Disclaimer: Don't own Naruto or anything else used within my story. I feel pretty stupid with the way I have done the stat system and I've actually forgotten the reason I used both stamina and endurance, also I'm not sure why I put charisma In their when it's more of a skill. So from now on Stamina and Endurance have been put together as one single stat (Endurance) and charisma has been removed as a statistic altogether. At some point I will go back to the older chapters and correct this so that the story doesn't change all the time. The stats from now on will be as follows: Strength, Speed, Endurance, Chakra, Control, Intelligence, Vitality and Stealth. The only reason I've kept stealth is its importance in Shinobi anilities.

Naruto Uzumaki level 6

The orange light from the dawn shone through the Hokage's window when the sound of birds woke him from his brief exhausted sleep. He lifted his head from his desk, having fallen asleep mid stack of paperwork. He looked down from his tower and across the village. Most of the people had yet to awake with the only signs of life being the odd shinobi jumping across the rooftops likely on the way to the mission's desk or on their way to the training grounds that surrounded the village. It had been three weeks since the freshly graduated genin had their jounin tests and there had been no news from the ANBU team he had sent to get in touch with Tsunade, he cursed the woman's incessant gambling. The constant fear of debt collectors had apparently given her a sort of sixth sense when it came to people searching for her.

He sighed as he removed his hat and ran his hand through his grey and thinning hair. Chameleon had gotten to Jiraiya in practically record time, the man wasn't exactly hiding but he didn't think there would be such a large time frame between the findings of the Sannin. "Where the hell are you Tsunade please don't make me do something I'll regret." Hiruzen left his desk making his way to the door hoping to grab some breakfast with his grandson before the workload began to pile up when his assistant walked in with a fresh stack of paperwork. He didn't even say a word before slowly turning around and heading back towards his desk tears slowly beginning to form in the corner of his eyes. 'Hurry the hell up Boar or I swear to kami I will have you catching Tora for eternity.'

Boar's ANBU team could be found in the outskirts of Yu no Kuni (The Land of Hot Water). This is a border country between Hi no Kuni and Kaminari no Kuni. "Alright form up quickly, Tsunade and her apprentice are in the upcoming town according to the information that we retrieved the other day. She is meant to be on her way into Kaminari no Kuni in order to attend a gambling tournament." The three remaining ANBU landed around him all occupying different branches of a large tree that was part of the tree line overlooking a relatively large town below.

"Hai, according to the information from Jiraiya she will be staying at a hotel over night before making their way into Kaminari no Kuni." The Cat masked ANBU decided to pitch in not wanting the rest of the team to start acting up unfortunately that wasn't the case.

"Hmm I wonder how you got that information from Jiraiya-san Neko. We all know he can't resist a beautiful woman, though how your hard ass got it I'll never know." The purple haired ANBU turned to the musclebound ANBU and had to resist the urge to take her sword and put it somewhere 'unpleasant'.

The final member had remained silent and had again tried to focus on her imaginations; they were far less annoying than the rest of her team, though not by much. "Alright you two, kami can we go one day without you two at each other's throats. Let's head into town we need to try and find her soon." Boar yet again seemingly had enough of his squad. And with that they jumped off and into the town below in search of the last Senju.

Naruto and the rest of his team where currently on the way to the Hokage tower to turn in their mission for the day. The team had recently captured the genin scourge that is Tora the cat. They had done this mission a couple of times before and honestly they were sick of it. Shikamaru hated it due to the amount of time and effort he had to put into for what is meant to be a simple D-rank mission. Naruto hated because well because the cat hated him he had the scratches all over his face to prove it. Hinata on the other hand loved the mission, not that she enjoyed chasing around the village seemingly doing chores for the civilians. No it was most likely to do with the 'adorable little kitty' sleeping in her arms at the moment. Kakashi just chuckled watching all of them. He wasn't expected to take part in the missions but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy their suffering.

Team 10 had been prolific under Kakashi. He had quickly drilled into them the importance of teamwork and after just under a month of being a team had an incredibly high number of D-ranks completed. Training hadn't just been teamwork though he had forced all three to improve their basic skills and had increased their physical capabilities and chakra control.

That's not to say he hadn't gotten stronger at all no Naruto had taken to grinding his skills against his shadow clones at a secluded training ground and had managed to increase the levels of his chakra formation skills to level 8 each. He'd also finally managed to increase the level of his Kazenokami no nagare to 5 as well through the spars Kakashi and Obito had arranged between the their teams. Not to mention the daily thrashings he would give his clones.

He was getting frustrated with the shadow clone jutsu though it seemed he had reached a plateau in terms of levelling the jutsu, no matter how much he used it he couldn't get it past level four, he had no idea why, he couldn't even gain experience in the technique anymore. Luckily he'd made up for this by spending a lot of time grinding to improve his base stats, he'd managed to improve a fair amount considering he still hadn't levelled up. His strength had upped by four to nineteen through training with his weights on which were increasing with every level he got in the stat. The same reason had improved his speed by the same amount to twenty six. His endurance had slowed in growth though only increasing by two points to thirteen. He hadn't been able to improve anything else though for the past week since he had gotten a stat in speed after a training session with his team. He figure there was a stat cap of ten every level similar to his levelling but needed to wait to the next level to be sure.

The team arrived at the tower and promptly returned Tora to her rightful owner, this just happened to be the wife of the fire daimyo. (No one really knows why she lived in Konoha while the daimyo stayed in the in the capital.) Kakashi stepped forward to report in to the mission completion desk. "Kakashi Hatake and team 10 reporting in for the capture of Tora the cat." He flicked a lazy salute and stepped back in line with his genin. The Hokage chuckled at the jounin's lazy behaviour and let it go.

"Ah good job Kakashi, Iruka could you perhaps go fetch Lady Shimonji and tell her we have Tora again." Iruka stood up from behind the desk and left the room. "So how has your training been coming along then?"

"It's been great Jiji I'm much stronger now won't be too long until I can kick your ass too." Naruto had a huge grin on his face. In other villages that would have probably got a court martial at least but the leaf was a lot more relaxed than others, being Naruto helps as well.

"I'm sure you will Naruto-kun I'm sure you will. Now Kakashi I believe you will need a mission for tomorrow, would you like to pick it up now or come back in the morning?" Kakashi held his chin with his hand seemingly getting lost in thought over what was a simple decision.

"Hmm I'll take one now Hokage-sama, and could you please get a C-rank mission I believe they are ready. Though I'd prefer one with a low chance of combat if at all possible." Naruto at this point entered what he liked to call his shinobi mode, he was calm collected and above completely serious, he had to prove to the Hokage that he was strong enough and responsible enough to know about the Kyuubi.

Shikamaru was just chanting troublesome over and over in his head and trying to come up with an excuse to be missing tomorrow. Hinata seemed nervous but didn't want to let her team down. The Hokage was momentarily surprised he hadn't expected this and was admittedly sceptical on the team's ability to cope with a higher rank but if Kakashi said they were ready then he'd believe they were ready. "Alright Kakashi you can have a C-rank. Let me just see what we have that's suitable"

Naruto lost all composure at the news and jumped in the air shouting "YATTA" before being bonked on top of the head by a now incredibly annoyed Shikamaru. "Oi what gives Shika?" Naruto turned to the Nara heir a face full of pubescent rage.

He was met with an incredibly annoyed glare from his teammate. "Shut up Naruto it's bad enough we have to do something so troublesome I don't want to have to put up with your energy as well, so please. Please be quiet for a while." He had emphasised the last part somehow sounding exhausted and furious at the same time.

"Oh come on this is awesome we don't have to do any more stupid chores. Stop being such a lazy ass and get over it." By this point the entire room was just staring at the two. The Hokage was about to scold the both of them. Naruto for being a bit too excitable in a professional environment and Shikamaru for being so negative about the whole thing.

Fortunately it was at this point that lady Shimonji walked in before rushing toward Hinata and snatching the sleeping Tora from her arms. "Aww my lil precious did you miss your mommy, yes you did oh yes you did." She said the last part in a sickeningly sweet tone causing everyone else in the room to gag apart from Hinata who was close to jyukenning the woman through til next week if she didn't put the 'Adorable little kitty' down. Though definitely not in the way Naruto and Shikamaru had mentioned putting the kitty down on the way back from the mission and during the mission oh and before the mission.

The rest waited until Shimonji had left before the Hokage went on to tell them the details of the mission. "Okay team 10 the mission I have for you is to deliver a scroll to the fire temple to an old associate of my son." Kakashi couldn't have been happier with the first mission outside the mission for his team. "Okay now having finished a mission already today you can set off tomorrow. Now if that is all I'm sure Kakashi will fill you in on the rest." Naruto and his team left after a chorus of Hai's.

Kakashi told the team to arrive at the village's main gate at nine am the next morning. He also told them to inform their families and anyone else they feel would need to be informed. Afterwards Kakashi had ushered his team out of the tower lest Naruto's exuberance break something.

As they left the Hokage tower they ran into team 7 arriving at the tower with their sensei. "Hey Obito-sensei, teme treating you right?" Obito just chuckled with Sasuke growling behind him. "Aww what's wrong teme don't you like being called teme by me? I thought that was our thing."

"Shut up Naruto just because you beat him in a few spars doesn't mean you can talk to Sasuke-kun like that." Ino fumed at her fellow blonde. She heard Kiba snicker from behind her before she turned and levelled a glare on him. "Don't make me mind rape you Kiba." The young animalistic boy paled having seen what the Yamanaka was willing to do in her 'righteous' female fury. Honestly ever since her first spar with Sasuke the girl had gotten scary. 'Why oh why are all the women in my life terrifying?' Kiba moaned inwardly thinking of his mother and sister.

Shikamaru was itching to leave by this point having grown up with the girl due to their families he was more than aware of her wrath. Hinata though was just giggling in the background at the other teams antics having grown used to them through their sparring sessions between the teams.

Obito had stepped back and just watched the team's interaction. The Hokage's plan to have the teams bond didn't seem to be working at first glance but compared to the first official meeting of teams 7 and 10 it was leaps and bounds ahead. "So what is your team up to then?" the jounin asked.

"Oh we just finished a mission and now we're on our way home to prepare for tomorrow's mission." Obito knew that meant Kakashi had gotten them a C-rank and was now currently hoping none of his team asked about it, his brats weren't ready, not yet anyway. They were close though he'd admit that much, if only to himself. Following that train of thought he quickly left with his team to turn in their own mission for the day.

"Ah sorry but I have to get home now; father gets displeased when I'm late. Goodbye Naruto-kun, Shika-kun." Hinata spoke up softly before heading towards the hyuuga compound.

"Guess that's my cue to leave to, see ya Naruto." Shikamaru waved over his shoulder having already set off towards his family home as well.

Naruto stood alone in the middle of the street for a while. 'Did Hinata just call Shikamaru Shika-kun? Oh well I gotta go pick up some stuff from Ryu-san and then prepare for tomorrow.' And with that he jumped to the roof tops before heading toward the sharpened leaf.

Naruto shot out of bed to the sound of his alarm waking him up; as per usual the alarm was quickly shot from his hands into the far wall upon which it shattered into its base components. "Ugh what fresh hell is this, oh yeah morning time… whooo." The young blonde complained as he made his way to the shower. He quickly get washed and dressed before eating breakfast. "There's something I'm forgetting isn't there?" he questioned himself; it was at that moment he turned around to see his pack for the mission laying on the ground next to the front door. "…SHIT!" he yelled stuffing one last piece of toast into his mouth and heading towards the door, grabbing his pack and slamming it shut behind him.

Naruto arrived at the village's front gate to find Shikamaru ready and waiting to go. "Do I need to check for a genjutsu or something Shika? How are you here first?"

"Haha very funny Naruto… anyway you can blame my mother when she found out I had a C-rank mission today from dad she practically kicked me out of the house to make sure I'd be here on time." Naruto just laughed at his clearly tired friend before turning to see Hinata walking up to the two of them.

"Hey guys, do you think Kakashi-sensei will be here on time today?" The heiress asked having gained a fair bit of confidence around her two teammates. "Never mind it looks like he is on his way here now." Hinata said her skills with byakugan having increased dramatically with Kakashi's guidance concerning the intricacies of how to use a dojutsu.

"Oh what would we do without you Hinata-chan?" Naruto said with a small amount of worship in his voice.

"We'd probably get killed thanks to one of your dumb ideas." Shikamaru chided causing a small raincloud appearing above his head.

"Hey Kakashi-sensei." Kakashi arrived also with a small raincloud formed above his head.

'Damn that Hinata ruining all of my cool entrances with that stupid inferior dojutsu of hers… okay that was creepy I nearly sounded like that old bigot Fugaku.' With a shiver he regained his composure before addressing his team. "Alright team, everyone packed and ready to go?" the three genin nodded though he noticed Naruto sulking slightly muttering to himself.

"Stupid Shika no respect for my plans, I swear you set one food cart on fire trying to get the mission done faster and you never live it down." Shikamaru hearing this just rolled his eyes while Hinata giggled at the memory of Naruto running down the street chasing a cart full of burning potatoes.

"Anyway now that we are all here I can give you a proper brief for the mission. We are to deliver this here scroll to the fire temple to one of the senior monks who used to be a part of the twelve guardians, the man's name is Chiriku and we are to wait for a response scroll from him which could take up to three days." Seeing three nods of confirmation from his team he decided to head off. "It will likely take us two days to get to the temple. Luckily you all know the tree walking exercise thanks to Naruto here so it won't take the usual four days it normally takes."

A quest had been created: Birds of a feather

Objective: Deliver the scroll to The Fire Temple and collect their reply.

'Wow that's a lot of Experience, and finally something information about this Bijuu crap.' Naruto turned his attention back to that of his team hoping to do well on this mission and finally learn about the Kyuubi. And with that they headed off to the fire temple ready begin their first 'real' mission. The smile never left Naruto's face.

Team 10 had been jumping through the forests of Hi no Kuni at a fair pace, Hinata was at the front of a diamond formation with Shikamaru and Naruto flanking her and finally Kakashi bringing up the rear of the formation. The team had been travelling for most of the day and the sun was beginning to set over in the horizon casting a deep orange light over the trees of the countryside.

"Alright team there should be a small clearing coming up that will be a good spot for us to camp tonight. We'll hunker down and move out at dawn and we should get to the temple by sunset tomorrow night." As Kakashi finished talking the break in the tree line opened up revealing the clearing.

The team set about their duties setting up their own tents, Kakashi would be sharing a tent with Hinata and Naruto would be sharing with Shikamaru. Naruto had to restrain himself from making a sly comment about Kakashi's obsession with porn and sharing a tent with a budding woman. He stopped himself for two reasons one he didn't wanna freak out Hinata and also he didn't want to have Kakashi influence his report, he needed to know what his connection to the kyuubi was.

Naruto had been assigned to collect water from the nearby lake, Hinata was collecting firewood and finally Shikamaru had been tasked with setting up traps surrounding the camp. Naruto sat down by the stream having collected the water for the group and sealed them into the storage seals he acquired from Ryu on the day of his graduation. 'I wonder if anything is ever going to happen on this mission, I always thought my first proper mission would at least have something to do.'

He stood up and dusted off his ANBU style pants and turned to head back to the camp having collected what he needed. As he neared the woods again he was stopped by what was becoming a familiar experience, the gaps in between the trees seemed to gain a blue barrier. Naruto stepped back "Hopefully it's optional this time, I don't have time for this and if Kakashi sends someone to look for me I have no idea how to explain this."

Enforced Dungeon start

"Oh you've got to be fuc…" He was interrupted from the curse as a blast of freezing cold wind smashed into his back launching him into and off of the barrier and caused him to stumble back up to face his enemies. Looking back at the lake he noticed it was now frozen over entirely with three large gelatinous creatures made from a glowing blue substance and each had a pair of dull red eyes that stared back at him. The mouths of the creatures, or at least he thought it was a mouth it just looked like the gel opened up near the eyes with what looked like a tongue flailing around. A dull shriek pierced the air around the dungeon interrupting his thoughts.

'Huh let's get this over with then, Scan'

Ice Flan Level 5

Gelatinous blobs born in the demon world. Keeps its chakra inside and can be used to harden its body and lower the temperature drastically in the local area.

Strength 1, Speed 1, Endurance 89, Intelligence 8, Vitality 11

Practically immune to blunt and slash based attacks. No kill spots, only known weakness would be opposing elements.

'…Practically immune to blunt and slash attacks.' He groaned before the creatures eyes all seemed to glow at the same time, he rolled to the side dodging a blast of frozen air. 'Okay so about a C-rank wind jutsu with a cold element to it. I wish I could use some Katon jutsu right now… No bad Naruto do not compare yourself to the teme!' he berated himself whilst dodging the attacks over and over again. 'If I can't damage them with physical attacks then I guess I have to use something else.'

He quickly ran through hand seals for Midnight Haze and the area about twenty feet around him was slowly covered with a black shroud of chakra. The shroud covered him as he drew three kunai before wrapping the handles with some exploding tags he had bought.

The flan's eyes glowed before again blasting a freezing wind forward through the shroud; the darkness lifted momentarily but revealed no blonde haired genin. Naruto sneaked around behind the flans as they blasted wave after wave of freezing wind in any direction causing the shroud o be slowly lifting. Naruto crossed his hands for the Kage Bunshin creating a pair of clones to help him. He handed each of them one of the explosive kunai. "You know what to do." The clones nodded before disappearing into the darkness.

He didn't want to rush this and bided his time, the clones would be dispelled from the slightest contact with the flan's attacks and he didn't want to waste time on these three knowing that there would be a much stronger boss afterwards. The clones had both gotten close enough for the plan to work. 'Oh please let this work.' He pulsed his chakra signalling the clones to begin before leaping into action.

All at once the three Naruto's drove their kunai deep into the flan's bodies. Naruto smiled but it quickly faded as he couldn't remove his arm from the blob. "Shit lemme go you fat bastard." The blob turned to face him its face mere inches from his own. He saw the red eyes glow before he assaulted with the freezing gale of their breath. His clones had been dispelled leaving their kunai in the blobs.

Naruto noticed his skin began turning blue, he tried to Kawarimi and escape the grip of his enemy but the goo seemed to be absorbing his chakra keeping him stuck there. He began to panic when he noticed a layer of ice forming over his skin and clothes. He charged his other fist with chakra hoping to blast the blob away with a power strike. His fist smashed into the blobs face splattering what he assumed was its skull. Unfortunately the head seemed to slowly reform and his arm was still stuck.

Throwing caution to the wind he channelled as much chakra through his body before activating the exploding tags. "See ya sucker!" Naruto then braced himself for the impact and he was not disappointed. All three flans glowed before splattering everywhere as the explosives went off within them. He was blasted away and his arm screamed in pain. The wind was knocked out of him as he collided with barrier before dropping to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut.

"Oww, Oww ugh I'm never doing that again.' He looked down to his arm and noticed the gauntlet had protected a lot of the damage, mainly keeping the limb attached but he still looked to have second degree burns. 'Hopefully the Battle Healing will deal with those.'

He heard a loud roar and turned around to see a massive humanoid with dark blue skin with massive arms and covered in dirty blonde fur, it had a lion like main with two dreads that framed its face. "Well aren't you a pretty bastard what your dick not small enough already had to really go to town on the roids to make sure you really couldn't satisfy anyone ever again didn't ya." He had no idea what he was saying it seemed Taunt was taking over which by the looks of the hulking beast was never going to be a good idea. 'Scan.'

Wendigo level 9

Once a man who sought strength greater than all others, infected by the chakra of beasts caused it to lose its mind

Strength 40, Speed 30, Endurance 18, Intelligence 2, Vitality 15

Incredible strength and speed of movement though only in straight lines, due to massive muscle in legs cannot turn once movement has begun. Standard human weak points

'Well it looks like I'm pretty screwed this time. No I need to calm down and beat this thing, it can only move in a straight line so if I keep my distance and dodge it should be open for a counter-attack.' He tried to circulate his chakra as quickly as possible to increase his reaction time waiting for the beast to attack.

It roared and ran at the blonde picking up speed in an amazing show of acceleration for a beast its size. Naruto jumped to the side as quickly as possible and saw it bounce of the barrier, his chakra blades already drawn and pumped with chakra to katana length he ran forward and unleashed a vicious slash at its back, the attack landed creating a large gash down it's back but no blood was released. The Wendigo roared swinging its arm around like a huge club, it caught the blonde in the side of the ribs batting him away with ease.

Naruto landed in a heap but pushed himself up into a standing position, he coughed up a small bit of blood but ignored it to focus on the beast, and it spotted him again and charged him like a raging bull. He barely managed to avoid the attack, he would have retaliated but realised he wasn't fighting it the best he could, he ran through hand seals again before reactivating the midnight haze and creating four shadow clones all of which ran in opposite directions before peppering the Wendigo with kunai they all hit the monster but didn't seem to faze it as they just stayed lodged in its body. Again it roared before charging at the closest clone, not being able to move as fast as Naruto it had no chance to dodge, it popped the clone and carried on into the barrier. "Now!" the original yelled and all the copies of Naruto charged forward intent on bringing the beast down.

Naruto leaped high above the clones and Wendigo until he was directly above it, looking down he could see his clones hacking into the back of the beast before it turned and swatted them all away like flies, he threw a single kunai which embedded slightly into its thick skull. He channelled as much chakra as he could into his arm, activating the power strike before falling toward the beast. He smashed his fist into the ring of the kunai driving the pointed blade into its brain. Naruto fell to the ground and looked up to see it remain standing looming over him like some sort of demon before it started to glow and shattered into shards of glowing crystal before they dissolved.

He just lay there at first not quite believing he had won against the monstrosity. His burnt arm ached and his ribs felt like they had been trampled on by a herd of elephant but he pushed himself up with his elbows his battle healing seeming to have repaired a lot of the damage with his once second degree burns looking more like a set of angry blisters slowly reducing in size. He put a hand to his ribs and could feel the swelling reducing.

He lay back down, closed his eyes and let out a sigh of relief, he'd honestly forgotten about his healing in all the commotion. He opened up his eyes to see the barriers had disappeared and the lake and unfrozen, amazingly his clothes were fine, maybe he could play this off with Kakashi as losing track of time? Who was he kidding he was screwed. Wanting to get it all over with before heading back to camp he opened up the alert window flashing in his vision.

"Ugh please tell me I at least levelled up thanks to all of that." He tapped the option to accept the loot and noticed the other light in the corner of his vision. He tapped and was grateful to be greeted with familiar level up window. He checked the scroll he had received from the dungeon before deciding where to place his stats though.

Nebaru Hokan (Sticky Charge)

User focuses and condenses Suiton chakra through their tenketsu to secrete highly adhesive and viscous explosive charges from the palm of their hands, when charged with enough chakra the substance will detonate violently, higher levels of chakra obviously lead to higher levels of damage and radius. At higher levels of suiton manipulation charge can be placed on enemies to drain target chakra, once reaching critical chakra levels the charge will detonate.

Hand seals: Ram, Snake, Tiger.

Requirements: Suiton affinity (Chakra 13, control 10) Non-Suiton affinity (Chakra 18, 20)

Naruto smirked it seemed he could learn it even without a suiton affinity though he suspected it would be a lot harder to cast. He quickly learnt the skill figuring there was no harm in knowing the technique. He opened up the status screen to decide what stats he should increase. He was well aware of the requirement for the Rankyaku, and even if he didn't know what the technique was but if it translated into storm leg then it had to be awesome… right? He put four into his speed and control stats. He knew the type of ninja he wanted to become he'd asked for advice from Kakashi and the man had helped him decide to focus on becoming a speed based ninjutsu user, with a small focus in taijutsu as well. He still had two points left though and decided to put them into his intelligence, he knew he'd been acting smarter recently and only hoped it continued, looking back on it he shivered with how dumb he could be some times.

He was brought out of his thoughts as he arrived back into the campsite, he looked up to see Kakashi sat in a tree with his little orange book in hand; he looked down at Naruto and just nodded. Naruto was very confused did the man not see what he looked like he was covered in dirt and likely some of his own blood, never mind the blue goo he got all over himself. Naruto looked down noticing he looked exactly the same as he did before the dungeon. "Uh sorry it took so long Kakashi-sensei." Kakashi furrowed his brow, well at least the part of it that was visible anyway.

"Naruto you were gone five minutes stop trying to suck up for the mission report. Tut, tut bad Uzumaki bad." The lazy jounin said as he seemed to be spraying Naruto with a small water pistol. 'Were the hell did he get that from?' Naruto thought before scowling and flipping Kakashi off and sitting next to the fire that had been started in his absence.

'How come no one noticed how long I was gone… wait did Kakashi say that it had only been five minutes? But I was fighting for at least ten minutes, never mind how long it took me to catch my breath.' Naruto didn't notice Hinata come up and sit next to him by the fire and so nearly jumped out of his skin when the blue haired girl spoke up.

"Is something the matter Naruto-kun?"

Naruto panted a bit trying to recover from the shock before answering the girl. "Huh, no not really Hinata just Kakashi sensei winding me up is all." Hinata let out a small giggle only causing Naruto to frown slightly before shrugging. "So how are you feeling about the mission Hinata?"

"Not too bad it's only a delivery mission within the country so it shouldn't be too bad. I just hope I don't disappoint my father or Kakashi-sensei." Naruto just smiled at her glad the girl was taking being a ninja seriously there were so many other girls in their class that simply weren't cut out to be kunoichi, not yet anyway.

"I'm sure you'll do fine Hinata. Anyway it's probably time for us to go to sleep for tomorrow, right Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto called out to the man sat in the tree above them.

"Yep, now seeing as Shikamaru has already fallen asleep and since you suggested it so graciously you can take the first watch while I get some shut eye." Naruto groaned but agreed before jumping into one of the trees above and getting comfortable.

The next day of travel went fairly quickly with the team hopping between the trees of fire country at a fair pace for genin. "Alright team the temple should be coming up any minute now, let me do the talking with the client and only speak when spoken to, this isn't like D-ranks were you can mouth off and get away with it." The three genin nodded vigorously, even Shikamaru's nod seemed to have a bit of oomph to it. "Good, here it is." As soon as he said that the team jumped through the last stretch of trees and landed in front of the temple's gate. The gate was a large bronze pair of doors with two Tengu statues crouched on either side both in fairly intimidating positions as the team walked up the steps Naruto could have sworn they were going to smash him to pieces at any moment.

A slim bald man with dark eyes and very thick eyebrows, not like the green clones in the village thick but still above average. He wore plain beige and blue robes that hung down to his knees covering a pair of beige pants. The only thing that seemed to stand out for the man was the pale blue sash tied around his waist, the sash held the symbol of the fire daimyo in black on a red background. "You must be the team from Konoha, some of our monks felt your approach." The man spoke as he descended the steps to Team 10, as he reached the team he held out his hand for Kakashi to shake. "The name's Chiriku and I believe you have something for me Kakashi-san" Kakashi shook the man's hand before retrieving a scroll from his jacket and handing it to the monk.

"I was told that you would have accommodations prepared for us while we await you're response." The man nodded before signalling for them to follow him up the steps.

"Yes we have prepared two rooms for your team to lodge in, the response shouldn't take more than a day at most, though if there is some delay please be patient." The bald monk showed them to their rooms before heading off to deliver the scroll.

Heading towards the room were the elders where waiting for him Chiriku was stopped by a young man with shoulder length, dull blueish-grey hair in an asymmetrical style with a single lock falling into his face. The boys eyes were his most striking feature at first glance they were a dull grey though they had a deeper red lying within them just below the surface. The boy wore the standard monk robes and a pair of sandals with the only exception to looking like a regular monk being his right arm being heavily bandaged.

"How can I help you Sora?" Chiriku turned to the boy with a slight smile. He noticed the boy shifting on his feet uncomfortably and rubbing his bandaged arm tenderly. "Come on Sora I'm in a hurry, just tell me what is the matter." The blue haired boy nodded before speaking with a shaky voice.

"I'm sorry to interrupt Chiriku-san, my arm has been burning up for a while now but it suddenly got much worse, it feels like something is bubbling under the surface." The boy turned to look away thinking what he was saying to be ridiculous.

Chiriku's eyes widened at what the boy was saying. 'It couldn't be its chakra could it.' Chiriku patted the boy on his shoulder a small smile on his face. "Don't worry about it Sora, I'm sure it's nothing. Why don't you go rest and see if you feel better about it tomorrow?" Patting the boy on the back to calm him down he ushered him back to his quarters. "I'll see you tomorrow Sora but I need to deliver this scroll first." Sora nodded weakly before walking into his room and sitting on his bed a pained expression on his face.

"Kakashi-sensei what should we do while we are here?" Hinata asked her team leader before they entered their rooms for the evening.

"Hmm I suppose you could do some training, normally I'd be against training while on a mission unless it is completely necessary, but seeing as the fire temple is almost as safe as Konoha itself it should be fine. Just don't destroy the place."

Naruto chose this point to speak up then. "Okay then I'm gonna go find somewhere to train, anyone wanna join?" Shikamaru just grumbled something unintelligent before slinking into their room and collapsing onto the bed causing a face-fault from the rest of them.

Hinata was nervous she wanted to go with Naruto but she was just too tired after the day of travel to train with the energetic blonde. "Sorry Naruto-kun but I'm just too tired today." The girl then walked into her own room before collapsing into the bed, though not quite so suddenly as Shikamaru.

"Alright goodnight Hinata-chan see you tomorrow." The girl simply lifted an arm to wave at the boy not bothering to look behind her. Naruto finally turned to Kakashi before offering an over the top salute and walking off to find a training ground. Kakashi just rolled his eyes and took his book from his jacket.

He walked around the temple aimlessly, he wanted to find a training area so he could practice his new jutsu but didn't dare disturb the monks of the temple they all just seemed so tense and focussed on something else. He saw the man who had escorted his team to their room walking away from the main building of the temple and assumed he wasn't too busy. "Chiriku-san!" he called out gaining the attention of the ninja monk. "Do you know anywhere around here that I can get some private training done? Preferably somewhere that'll stand up to some fair abuse?"

"Hmm, I believe there should be a training ground behind the younger monks' chambers. It's just down this path here." He pointed in the direction Naruto had already come from; the blonde thanked the man before running off. "Try not to make too much noise and wake people up." The genin merely waved at the man over his shoulder showing he heard him. "Hmm I hope that brat doesn't wreck the place."

Sora lay awake on the small tatami mat given to all the monks of the temple. Sweat ran from his brow causing the hair to stick to his face. He grimaced as another surge of pain shot through his arm, the pain brought tears to his eyes. "Kami make it stop, what is happening to me? Chiriku-san doesn't seem to be worried, does that mean I shouldn't be either." Again the boy tossed and turned in pain before it seemed to fade.

He sat up from his bedding to get a drink of water before another even stronger jolt of pain shot through his entire body. "Aaaggghhhh!" the young monk screamed before falling back into bed unconscious, small wisps of red chakra escaping the confines of his bandaged arm.

Naruto walked past the monks quarters on his way to the training ground the bald monk had suggested earlier. "Hehe I can't wait to try out this new jutsu." He started to imagine all the pranking and combat applications he could use explosions for. "At least I hope it works well I don't wanna have a useless jutsu." He was interrupted by a loud noise coming from the quarters he had just passed. "Jeez and monk-san told me to keep it down these people are so weird." He shrugged off the noise and continued on his way to the training grounds.

Kakashi sat in the small living area outside of his and his teams rooms, apparently the monks didn't believe in comfort or luxury seeing how small the rooms and beds were. He sat there reading his book and thought about the different ways in which he could begin training his team tomorrow while they waited for a response from the elder monks. Who knows how he could be reading porn and thinking about his team at the same time but it probably wasn't the healthiest of things to ask the man about.

Kakashi was interrupted from his reading by a knock to the door, sighing he put away his book and answered the door to a familiar head with no hair. "Can I help you Chiriku-san?" he asked in a lazy tone not really wanting to do anything other than read his book for the time being.

"Not really no, I just came to inform you that I instructed the blonde member of your team to train in the grounds behind the young monks barracks." Kakashi nodded uttering a small thanks to the man before going to close the door. "Oh one last thing there hasn't been any activity regarding the Bijuu in Konoha or the rest of the country recently has there?"

Kakashi's eyes widened in shock. 'He doesn't know about Naruto does he, I need to find out what this man knows.' "Not that I'm aware of Chiriku-san, please what is the problem regarding?" the bald man stared at the cyclops suspiciously before sighing.

"It's nothing really it's just one of the younger monks is rather… sensitive to the chakra of the Bijuu. The same monk has been in some discomfort for the past day or so, I was just wondering if you had any information regarding this." The man finished with a frown not liking to admit any connection between the temple and the Bijuu, it was just another excuse for the ninja to stick their noses where it doesn't belong in his opinion.

"Nope, no word from our end sorry as far as Konoha is concerned all the beasts are either sealed or defeated and waiting to reform elsewhere." Chiriku hummed slightly before his shoulders sagged and bade the jounin a good night and left. Kakashi went and sat down in his previous position, no book in hand. 'I hope Naruto doesn't cause any problems while we're here.

Back with the loveable blonde, Naruto had just arrived in the training grounds. Said area seemed to be a small clearing made of a cobblestoned surface with a small pond in the centre and a few trees dotted around. "When the guy said training area he must've thought that I meant meditation spot. Oh well it will have to do."

He hopped into the centre of the clearing before jumping into the middle of the lake, his feet not sinking below the surface of the water by an inch. "So glad I learned how to do this, being able to walk on water is awesome."

He looked at the Nebaru Hokan in the jutsu window after he opened the status screen to double-check the correct hand signs he needed to use.

Naruto was giddy at the thought of having explosives available to him at all times and honestly hadn't been so excited about a jutsu in a long time. Sure Midnight haze was damn useful and he certainly appreciated the art of stealth having been a prankster for so long but nothing beat a kickass jutsu that could smash, cut, burn or simply blows up. What could he say he was a thirteen year old boy, what thirteen year old boy didn't like overpowered chaos at his fingertips.

He ran through the three hand signs and called out the jutsu, he channelled the chakra in the correct way, he still didn't know how the information on how to use the jutsus popped into his head like they did but he wasn't complaining. "Nebaru Hokan no Jutsu (Sticky charge Jutsu)" he called out holding his right hand forward palm up and cradled the wrist with his left. A small layer of gel formed on his hand. He could honestly say it felt disgusting; it was like having a slug crawl around on his palm. "Okay now what do I do with this stuff…oh I know." He reached into his pouch with the none slime covered hand and drew a kunai. "I hope this works." He prayed before wiping the gel layer of the jutsu over the knife. He looked behind him to see the small quarters of the monks with no lights on. "I hope this isn't too loud."

He finished coating the kunai with as much of the slime as he could. He went to throw the weapon before he thought to clean off the gel from his hand in the water below. "Don't wanna blow my arm off."

He threw the kunai as high and as far away from the temple as he could before bringing both hands into the ram seal. "Boom." He whispered. He watched as the kunai instantly exploded with a force of a low-yield explosive note destroying the kunai in the process.

Naruto stood in awe he hadn't even used that much chakra in the jutsu and he had created an explosion that in his mind was massive. "I AM AWESOME!" he yelled jumping around the pond doing what would later be called the 'happy dance' by the members of his team and the rest of his graduate class.

After a while he stopped and then thought about what else he could apply the gel to. 'Well obviously I can apply it to people…" he shivered at the amount of mess that would create. "Shuriken will probably work as well as kunai. I bet I can even smear a thin layer of surfaces to leave undetectable traps as well..." The budding pyromaniac paused as a look of pure delight crossed his fac. "I can put it on my clones! I can make walking talking Bombs! Mwahahahaha!" the blonde cackled into the night air before remembering he was meant to be staying quiet.

'Better check how it explodes on surfaces first.' He walked over to the solid ground of the clearing before activating the jutsu again though this time he used slightly more chakra. And again the layer of gel covered his palm though this one seemed to have a more pronounced blue colouring. "It looks just like those Ice Flans from the dungeon, wonder if it's the same stuff. The scroll did say it drained chakra from the user with higher Suiton manipulation." He thought out loud.

He leaned forward and wiped the gel onto the ground before leaping back to what he assumed to be a safe distance. "Here goes. Boom." He said as he channelled the chakra to the gel. He watched as the ground seemed to erupt from where he had placed the gel a shockwave seemed to wash over him blowing his hood back from his head and causing his hair to blow wildly in the wind.

He noticed the lights turning on in the living quarters. "Hehe that one may have been a bit loud." He then proceeded to run off back towards the rooms he and his team had been given by Chiriku. "Hope that doesn't bother anyone." The blonde looked back to see a few monks stood in the clearing inspecting the singed stone with a serious look on their face. Naruto grimaced and increased his speed toward the room.

Kakashi sat on the chair thinking over the possible ramification if anyone found out about Naruto being the jinchuuriki of the nine tails. 'Sure the fire temple is allied with us and their only monks, but all it takes is the wrong person to open his mouth at the wrong time and Naruto will be in a bucket load of problems.'

The silver haired cyclops' thought were interrupted by the room door opening rather violently to reveal a panting Naruto, the boy had clearly been running quite fast to get here. Kakashi was on his feet immediately his thoughts from earlier inspiring a new found sense of paranoia regarding the blonde. "Naruto, what's the matter tell me what happened!" kakashi barked at the blonde.

Naruto straightened out immediately not really thinking Kakashi would have been there to notice his arrival. "Huh? Oh nothing sensei I was just trying out a new jutsu and I made a bit too much noise and disturbed some of the sleeping monks. I ran here so they wouldn't find me and get annoyed with us." Kakashi just let out a relieved sigh and slumped back down into the chair he'd spent the past hour or so relaxing in.

"What do you mean new jutsu Naruto?" Kakashi asked with a narrowing of his visible eye. "I haven't taught you any jutsu and I know you didn't take more than one from the village vault, Did you?" he asked allowing a small amount of killing intent to saturate the air in between the two.

'Crap how do I explain this to sensei without sounding completely crazy and not like I'm lying.' Naruto shuffled on his feet for a moment before an idea popped into his head. "The jutsu was mentioned in a book a found in the library and sounded cool; I found the scroll in the jutsu section of the library and I've been practising it by myself for a week or two and I finally managed to get it right this time… I think anyway." He replied nervously hoping Kakashi bought the quick lie.

Kakashi just stared at the blonde for a moment before eye-smiling at him causing all tension to leave the young genins shoulders. "Good here was me worrying that you'd gone and gotten someone else to teach you something." Naruto cursed himself for not thinking of that but then was relieved he hadn't at the next thing Kakashi said. "We wouldn't want you running to someone else for private lessons behind my back now would we?" Kakashi said in a fairly placid voice though Naruto had to gulp at the increased amount of killing intent the jounin was pumping out.

"Nope I would never try to get someone else to teach me without your permission Kakashi-sensei."

"Good make sure to keep that promise. Now tell me about this jutsu." Kakashi said to the sweating blonde.

"Well you know how I always liked explosions?" It was at this point Kakashi groaned the idea of mass replicating prankster blonde running around the village with access to explosives was no doubt to cause him a lot more trouble in the long run of being the boys sensei.

"Yeah Naruto we all know you love explosions."

"Well this jutsu is awesome, it condenses my chakra into a form of gel and then I can spread the gel over stuff, jump away activate the jutsu with some chakra and BOOM the gel explodes." Kakashi groaned again, he recognised the jutsu it was a fairly standard C-rank technique and was honestly rather useful in replacement of Exploding tags, if not for the ridiculous chakra cost the jutsu required for those without a suiton affinity. Kami knows it would be the jutsu that attracted the eye of the local jinchuuriki.

Naruto was worried about the look in his sensei's eyes but the man just shrugged. "Just show me it tomorrow so I can check that you won't kill yourself next time you use it. And Naruto next time you decide to learn a new jutsu let me know first." Naruto quickly agreed with an over the top salute that kakashi would have sworn was sarcastic if not for the serious look on the blondes face. "Alright off to sleep with you now, there is no need for any of us to keep watch here." And with that the jounin pulled out his trusty book as Naruto went into the room he shared with Shikamaru, said brunette still being fast asleep on his bed.

Naruto got straight into bed without changing his clothes too tried from the day's journey and his own adrenalin from the explosion wearing off now. The blonde quickly fell asleep for a dreamless night of rest completely unaware of the red mist that seeped through the window frame and into the seal on his navel while he slept.

Hey everyone, I know the chapter is a bit short here but I've cut the whole fire temple mission into two maybe three chapters so I can update more frequently and to divide the mission evenly without It just being one huge chapter. In regards to the Kekkai Genkai I said I will be introducing, this won't come into effect until Naruto is much higher level as I don't want to make him too strong too early like some fic do and that tends to ruin them for me. Oh and I'm still looking for a Beta Reader so if anyone is interested in that feel free to send me a PM and I'll get back to them.
