I'm supposed to be studying for my exams that were postponed for a week because of snow days, but meh, Percabeth!

"Annabeth!"

Annabeth set down her pen and textbook and put her head in her hands. It was January and she had exams to write in three days. Percy had been interrupting her for silly reasons every hour or so, and she was getting tired of it.

"What, Percy?

Just then, her boyfriend pushed open her door with his hip. In his left hand was a plate of cookies, blue of course, and in his right were two mugs of hot chocolate.

"Hot chocolate break?" he asked, grinning and setting the cookies and mugs on her desk.

"Sure," Annabeth told him, smiling.

He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on hers. "Ooh, architecture. Looks boring. C'mere." He pulled her up and, grabbing the hot chocolate and cookies, he sat down at the window seat Annabeth usually reserved for reading. It was cushily furnished with pillows and blankets, so the cold from outside didn't seep in through the window.

"I've barely seen you, Wise Girl," Percy said, grinning. Annabeth sat down facing him and took her hot chocolate.

"Sorry about that. There's been lots I've had to study for, and..." she trailed off, seeing Percy's puppy dog eyes and his not-so-subtle hints for her to try one of his cookies. "Did you make these, Seaweed Brain?"

He smiled proudly as she took one and bit into it. "Yep. I didn't know how Mom coloured them, though, so I used blue ink."

Annabeth choked. "Blue ink?!" She hurriedly drank some hot chocolate.

Percy laughed. "I joke, I joke, I kid. I only got a lot of help from my mom over the phone. Do you like them?"

She smiled. "They'd be great even if they were made with blue ink, Perce."

"Really? 'Cause I made dinner too and these were the buffer if dinner sucked..." He laughed.

"Thank you, Percy. I needed a break." Annabeth leaned over and gave him a kiss.

"Distractions are what I'm here for!" They both started laughing and couldn't stop.

As the snow fell outside, the couple sat and watched them, laughing, warm with their hot chocolate, his in a blue mug, hers in a green one. In the apartments across the road, an elderly woman sat at the window of her own apartment and watched them.

"George, come over here for a moment," she called to her husband of fifty years. When he arrived at the window, she smiled. "Those two are going to get married some day, you can just tell, can't you George?"

The man smiled too. "You can tell dear."

Percy kissed Annabeth, and then pulled her to his chest to cuddle her. The woman sighed and smiled.

"We were young like that once, do you remember that?

"I do," the man said, smiling at the memories. "I certainly do."

"I hope they get married."

"So do I."

A/N: Well that certainly evolved into something. I didn't know what I was aiming for when I started, but that's what I hit.

I know this isn't enough to make up for my absence, but it's a start, right? ;)

Happy 2014! (in February!)
