Come October

October came so quickly, Veronica was almost worried that she wasn't going to get all the things done for the wedding that needed to be done. Somehow everything had come together so neatly, the hall had been booked the priest acquired, vows written and her dress. Veronica was in love with her dress, the white lace number was something she'd never actually pictured herself in but now that it was hers she couldn't picture herself in something else. The hotel they'd rented for the day to get everything together was a buzz with energy as the girls got into their dresses before hair and makeup was done.

Mac stood behind her helping her with the row of buttons a smile on her face. "You look gorgeous Veronica, Eli won't know what hit him." She stated, sincerity in her tone. "I'm so nervous I can't breathe." Veronica stated as she shook her hands trying to get rid of some of that nervous energy. "What if he's changed his mind?"

Laughter came from behind her, not just from Mac but from Emilie and Leah as well. "Mujer loca." Leah muttered in spanish. "Have you seen the way that man looks at you? He would walk through fire for you Veronica. El amor está en los ojos. Love is in his eyes everytime he sees, speaks of you, thinks of you. If you had said you never wanted to marry him, Eli would still be with you because he would rather have something than nothing. There is no changing his mind when it comes to you." Leah smiled as she looked at her friend, she knew what Eli saw in the blonde. There was a hard outer shell to Veronica but inside she was soft and loving, they were a well made match.

She was right, Veronica knew she was right but she could only nod her head. "I'm crazy about him." That earned another laugh from the girls. "Oh we know." Mac stated with a teasing smile as she gave her butt a slap. "You're all buttoned, go sit so she can do your hair."

"Hey!" Laughing and unable to help herself she hugged Mac before going to sit in the chair the hair stylist had set up. "Let's do this, I'm ready to get married." Hair and makeup was the easy part if you asked Veronica, the pictures where the hard part, especially since she wanted to make sure that Eli didn't see her dress until she was walking down the aisle towards him and the boys were also getting their photos done in the same location.

She met her dad in the room the church had offered so she had a place to wait so Eli couldn't see her, and the look on his face almost had her crying. "Oh honey, you look….there are no words for how beautiful you look." Keith said as he gathered her into his arms. "Thank you dad, just don't cry, cause then I'll cry." And she didn't want to ruin her makeup. "I'm so proud of you, Veronica. I know at the beginning I wasn't okay with you and him. But I know now that it was a good thing for both of you. "Thank you for giving him a chance." Keith nodded, went to say something else but the music started. "That's our que."

Slipping her arm through dad's she gave him a bright smile as the doors opened and she watched as the bridesmaids and groomsmen started down the aisle, little Marco in the front.

Eli's P.O.V

To say he was nervous was an understatement, he felt like he'd been waiting for this day for his whole life. And now that it was finally here his palms were sweaty and he felt like he was going to vomit. "Aye, Eli. Relax this is the day you've been waiting for." Paulo murmured as he helped him fix his tie, as best man he was taking his duties very seriously.

"I'm relaxed, I swear...I just keep thinking that she's going to change her mind and realize I'm not that great." Paulo snorted, rolling his eyes at his friend. "Don't be stupido, that girl loves you and you've been into each other since high school." Eli grunted. "I was into her in high school she was into Echolls." As soon as the words were out of his mouth someone was smacking him on the back of his head. "Ow are you crazy?!" Eli snapped at Wallace. "No but you might be, Veronica might have dated Echolls but you're the only guy she's ever kept in her life consistently, the only one she went to every time she needed help with something." He pointed out with a shrug. "She was always into you Eli, it just took her a little more time to realize it. But you can be damn sure that she'll be here."

Letting out a sigh he nodded his head, he knew the other was right, it had always been him and V and now it would be that way forever. "Thanks man, I needed that." "That's what I'm here for." He stated with a grin, reminding Eli how far the two of them had come in their own friendship. They'd gone from him taping the other to a flagpole to him being one of his groomsmen and closest friends. "How are you and Mac coming along?" He asked suddenly remembering a conversation he'd had with the other a few months ago. "We're good, real good. I'm glad I took your advice."

Grinning because things were coming along great with everyone he quickly finished getting ready as Keith came into the room. "Boys can I have a moment with the groom?" Paulo and the others nodded, stopping only to scoop up Marco they all headed for the hall. "We'll be out here, it's almost go time." Eli didn't need the reminder he was mentally counting down the time in his head but he gave his attention to his soon to be father in law.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Eli asked looking at Keith. " I wanted to apologize firstly, I know I gave you a hard time at first. But I wanted you to know that I couldn't be happier or prouder to have you as my son." His words were unexpected and brought Eli up short, he tried to remember the last time someone had been proud of him other than Veronica. Clearing his throat he wiped a hand over his face. "Thank you." It was the only thing he could think to say, so he reached out and gave him a hug. "It means a lot to me to have you say that...so thank you." Letting go he took a step back. "I should have said it sooner."

Keith looked Eli over, it had been a long time coming. He knew Eli was the right one for Veronica and the fact that he'd put up with everything that had happened to the two of them in the last four or so years.

"Come on, you've got an altar to be at and I have a daughter to walk down the aisle. He didn't need to be told twice, going out into the hall he clapped Paulo on the back a grin on his face. Let's do this."

Standing at the head of the altar his boys at his side he took a couple deep breathes as the music started and Emilie came down the altar, her blue gown swirling around her ankles. Next came Leah and then Mac, and Eli couldn't take his eyes off the door if you'd told him the church was going to burn down around them all. He wouldn't miss seeing Veronica come in for anything. The music changed causing a small smile to tug at the corner of his lips, leave it to Veronica to surprise him with a sappy love song. 'All For Love' filled the room as she came through the doors, and any concerns or doubts he might have had faded. Veronica walked towards him her arm tucked into Keith's elbow dressed in lace and satin looking so beautiful his chest actually hurt and as loath as he would be to admit it, he cried. Happy tears, maybe even some sad ones that his abuela was missing this.

They stopped in front of him and Veronica moved, pressing a kiss to her father's cheek before he put her hand in Eli's. "Take care of each other." Keith murmured before he went and took his place. Leaving him with Veronica who smiled brightly at him. "You look beautiful." Eli managed to get in before the Priest cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

"We are gathered here to bring Elias Navarro and Veronica Mars into holy matrimony. Since it is your intention to enter into marriage, please join your right hands. As we move forward in declaring your consent before God, and your friends and family."

Taking Veronica's right hand in his he smiled, waiting for the priest to continue.

"Elias, do you take Veronica for your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

If his grin could have gotten any bigger it would have as he met Veronica's gaze head on. "I do."

Veronica's grin was just as wide, a sheen of tears in her own gaze but none were shed as the priest looked to her.

"Veronica, do you take Elias for your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

Smiling her hand tightened on his as she nodded. "I do."

Putting his hand over both of theirs the Priest said a prayer, blessing them in front of everyone. "What God has joined, men must not divide." Looking at the best man he smiled. "Do you have the rings." Paulo nodded and pulled them from his pocket, handing them to the priest, who in turn handed Eli's to Veronica and Veronica's to Eli.

Eli gently put the ring on Veronica's finger. "Veronica, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

Veronica watched as the ring was slide down her finger, the ring blessing spoken by the priest first and then Eli in a sure confident tone even if his hands were shaking ever so slightly, she knew her own matched his as she slid the ring onto his ring finger.

"Eli, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

The priest smiled at them both, his hands over theirs. "In the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride." Eli didn't needed to be told twice, when the priest stepped back he leaned in capturing Veronica's lips with his own as the church filled with applause. Breaking a part he laughed keeping Veronica close to him as they walked down the aisle. With the ceremony done, all they had to do was celebrate with their friends.

He would thank Veronica again later for having a traditional ceremony, while neither of them where traditional people his abuela had been and he knew she had always wanted him to have a traditional catholic ceremony so he'd done it.

A/N: And here's the Wedding Ceremony, I may end it here. I may not. But this feels like a good place.
