Having Tea

"Join me for tea?" Todd Allison's voice broke me out of my thoughts all of a sudden.

Jumping in surprise, I turn to look at him. "Huh?"

Todd Allison looked a little bit annoyed. "I was asking if you'd like to join me for tea?"

"Huh? Why?" I asked, clearly flummoxed.

"I was going to go get some tea and was just wondering if you'd like to join…"

"Uh…"

"Well?" Todd Allison was staring at me impatiently.

"Er…sure?" I replied, uncertainty coloring my tone.

Thirty minutes later and Todd Allison and I were at a café, sitting across from each other. The man had ordered two cups of tea for us to drink and we were now doing that. Actually, he was just drinking while I wasn't.

I just stared down at the liquid in my glass cup, ruminating on things.

"Aren't you going to drink your tea? I didn't buy it for nothing, you know." Todd Allison's voice shattered through my contemplations.

I jumped a little, moving my gaze upwards to his face.

"Uh…yeah. Sorry." I murmured in embarrassment, snatching my cup of tea and bringing it up to my lips. Not paying attention, I spilled some of it on my shirt.

Now I looked like an idiot!

Todd Allison was just watching me with an amused expression dancing upon his features.

I sat my cup of tea down and attempted to get the liquid out of my shirt, muttering things under my breath.

I am such a twit…

"You look embarrassed." Todd Allison pointed out nonchalantly.

I glowered at him, cheeks turning pink. "I'm not!"

"Yes you are. No need denying it when it's painted all over your face."

"I am not embarrassed!"

"So in denial."

"Fine!" I huffed, now glaring down at my tea.

I could hear the man chortling to himself as he sipped at his tea. I bet he was just watching me and thinking how dimwitted I am. Ugh.

Whatever.
