It's a short chapter. But you all have been so patient with me so I figure you deserved a little something. I am still around, lurking and reading fanfiction myself even if I'm not updating. I enjoy seeing your reviews and messages. Enjoy!

Jonathan didn't want to wake up. The bed he had been given was the best one he had ever slept on, though he would never tell his momma that. The sun was bright in the room; the lack of curtains on the window made sure of that. He rubbed his eyes and yawned widely while stretching out his entire body, flopping back like a starfish. He hoped he could see his momma soon, but the nice lady who was taking care of him only said she was sick and needed to rest. He missed her a lot and wanted to see her, nevertheless he was currently content.

A small knock sounded on his bedroom door and it was soon opened by a petite young woman with silver hair. He thought it odd that her hair was silver even though she was young. "Good morning Jonathan," the woman said. "Are you ready for breakfast and lessons?"

Than harrumphed at the lessons, the red head giving him a thin smile in return. "Yes Miss. Ermine. May I go to the bathroom first?"

"Of course," Miss. Ermine smiled thinly. "Go ahead." She went over to the window and opened the blinds letting in the full strength of the sun.

Jonathan quickly left his bed and walked into the hallway. He was met with the sight of several children, all boys, also on their way to the bathroom before getting started on their day. While walking he had a small moment where he felt sad for all the other boys, sad that their mothers were also sick. Once he finished in the bathroom he went back to his room where Miss. Ermine was putting his breakfast on the small table next to the window. She was his personal friend, none of the other boys had their own, but Than thought it was only because he was new. She went to all the lessons and play time activities with him. Made sure he brushed his teeth and went to bed on time. Certainly not as good as his momma but he liked her anyway.

Once he had eaten he was helped to dress and then Miss. Ermine walked him to the classroom where he would have his lessons. They had told him that even though his momma was sick he shouldn't get behind in school so he still had to learn every day. He noticed that one of the boys who normally sat in front of him, Hunter, wasn't at his desk.

"Miss. Ermine?" he asked, getting her attention. "Where is Hunter? Did his momma get better?"

The woman only gave him a small nod in return. And quickly went back to her book. Than was happy to hear that he got to go home and his momma was well again. He couldn't wait for his to be better. With a small smile he settled further into his seat and got out his math book. His teacher was ready to start the day and thought he disliked math he wanted his momma to be proud that he kept up in school. With that thought on his mind he was ready for his day to truly begin.

This was new and Jane was beginning to become very anxious. She was careful to not let it show, still acting listless and allowed herself to be directed where the doctor wanted. The direction they were headed in the compound was not one she had been before, and the doctor's statement of "buyer" had her circling questions around in her head.

Eventually they came to a door; the doctor pulled out a keycard which she used to open the door. What was inside had Jane in a small state of shock, her jerk of surprise was thankfully attributed to her submissiveness and not astonishment. The room they had stepped into was the pinnacle of luxury. She had never seen anything like it. Maura's farm had been the pinnacle or so she had thought, but the sight in front of here was so extravagant that her eyes were dazzled by the light and the noise. She had no idea what time or even what day it was.

The room was large; larger than the entire first floor of Maura's house. It shone with a silver light thanks to all the silver finishing's and clear crystals handing from the ceiling. It was dazzling to her eyes and she had to close them to adjust to the light. Her cell was never this bright, only enough for her to read and even then it was still dull and sparse. The people were just as shiny as the room and she couldn't stop staring at the extravagance of it all.

She was pulled from her musings when her left arm was tugged forward by the guard at her arm. The doctor was already several feet ahead of them, having let go of her after seeing someone in the crowd of people. She made sure to tremble in the guards grasp and balk at the intimidating room in front of her, a small part truly not wanting to enter any further. The guard huffed at her and gripped her arm harder; she was sure to have a bruise tomorrow.

With her eyes downcast and being pulled along she took in everything she could about the space. Some of the people she actually recognized as betters from previous fights. They were people with a lot of money and while she did not know much of how the world worked she was sure they played a big hand in the horribleness of it all.

Soon enough she was led to a slightly raised platform in the center of the room, and made to stand in place under a bright light. There were other Raven's on the platform, but she didn't see the A2 she had spotted before. She tried to crouch down away from everything and everyone but the guard would not let her. She was roughly pulled back to her feet and clouted across the back of her head. She whimpered and tried to crouch once more, the guard doing his best to keep her upright. She could tell he was getting agitated with her behavior and just as he was about to strike her again the doctor surprisingly came to her rescue.

"If you hit her one more time I will set you to scrubbing toilets for a week." Doctor Weller's tone left for no argument from the guard, but Jane could tell he was confused. The guards had always been allowed to rough up the Raven's as necessary, and in her experience some enjoyed it far too much. "She is here for showing, not for beating. If she is to fetch a fair price she must look well. It's bad enough she isn't in peak form."

The guard's rough "Ma'am," and small nod was all the doctor needed.

"Alpha," she stated pointedly looking at her. She reached out for Jane's chin, gipping it with surprising strength and tilted it up, "If your good, and stand here without a fuss I will get you a new book. Will you be good?"

With a small nod Jane slowly stood up. The doctor breathed in sharply and turned around without another word.

Jane did her best to keep her eye on the doctor. She was "working the room" as her books would say, talking to this person and that person all while smiling and gently touching people. She was flummoxed with this version of the doctor, had never seen it her entire life. It left her uneasy to see how effortlessly she switched from such a wicked woman to one so sweet.

After several hours her stomach started making noises at her. It was unused to such a long period without food after living with Maura. And think of Maura made her think about what she missed. And how much she missed being back on the farm. Once she found Than then she could go home. Home. What was such a foreign word several months ago is the only word to describe when she was with Maura.

With her mind on her stomach she missed the doctor coming up to her from her left, and she certainly missed the man that was with her. It wasn't until they were directly in front of her that she startled back into awareness.

"Hello Alpha, or should I call you Jane?" Charles Hoyt was standing in front of her. He was standing in front of her with a cruel smile on his face as he slowly handed over a slip of paper to Dr. Weller. Jane truly started trembling this time. All thoughts of saving Jonathan lost from her mind as she stared at the monster in front of her. Her hands clenched into loose fists as she tried to back away. "Oh its okay baby, here we are again."
