Betrayal and redemption

chapter 12

Today was the first day of classes and Scorpius was very excited about it. He was finally going to learn how to control and use his magic. When he lived with his mother and brother is the muggle world it had been a real struggle, his mom's wand was snapped and she couldn't teach them about magic because she had no excess to it at the time. But now he was here and he was ready to learn.

To be honest, he felt relived he was here at Hogwards, as much as he loved his grandparent, they were strangers to him, they knew absolutely nothing about each other, making for some awkward conversational topics. Here he had a chance to meet people and be friends with people he had things in common with. He felt guilty but when he was sorted into Griffindor, he had felt liberated that he didn't have to be with Luc.

Don't get him wrong, he loves his brother but Luc is overbearing and overprotective all the time. Oftentimes Luc tries to acts as a father towards him, which is weird considering they are the same age. If he was to have a father figure he wanted it to come from his actual father, not from his grandfather or brother and maybe he was selfish but he actually wanted to have a relationship with his father.

When he got to the wording world, their grandfather told Luc and him the complete story of what happened almost 12 years ago, but even thought he now knows the truth, he can't find it in himself to blame Harry for what happened all those years ago. Scorpius thinks that if he was in Harry's place and was presented by evidence that his girlfriend was evil, he would have believed it. They were after all in the middle of a was.

It had been surprising to find out so much about their father, Draco their mother never really liked to speak about him, almost making it into a taboo topic. He remembers when he was young he asked her about his father, how her expression soften and her eyes were sad and hopeless. She had said that their father was a great wizard, and that they went to the same school, same year and were school rivals in just about everything but that one day they were separated when she was framed for a crime she didn't commit and as a result was exiled before she had a chance to tell Harry about the them.

His mother has never said anything negative about their father so it had been a surprise to learn how he gave up on her and negative his family saw Harry in. Luc had always been against their father from the beginning, so it wasn't surprising to see that he took to the negative information on their father, but to be honest, he didn't want to live in hatred all his life like Luc was to their father. Scorpius wanted to be free of that and have an opportunity to make his own opinion on his father, considering that their mother never said anything horrible about him.

This was one of the main reasons he was happy about being in a different house than his brother. This meant that Scorpius would have a chance to learn about his father from people that here negatively biased toward him. Considering Harry was a war hero who defeated a dark wizard by the name of Lord Voltamort, there had to be great stories about him doing good and great deeds. Not to mention he had always felt a bit different from his family, being sorted into Griffindor just confirmed what he had already thought, that we was more like his father than to anyone in his mother side of the family.

He was very happy when his first friend was Teddy Lupin, another Griffindor. Teddy was so happy and carefree, something totally different and refreshing to what he was used to. He found himself enjoying Teddy's company more and more. Teddy knew so much of the wizard world and was happy to share his knowledge with Scorpius and Scorpius appreciated it. They were becoming fast best friends, and to be honest, he felt more comfortable with Teddy's company than he ever did with his brother Luc. Scorpius has always thought that Luc has had a weird magical aura around him but he could not explained it, it just felt wrong to him. So it was a great relief to know they weren't going to be stuck together and would have opportunities to give each other in case of a argument between the two.
