Prompts: Hugo, hero
"Well?" Rose asks, stepping out of the dressing room and giving a small turn so that her dress swirls around her body.
"It's very... white," Hugo says, nodding as though to make his statement more helpful.
With a scowl, his sister folds her arms over her chest, eyes narrowing at him. "Are you actually going to try to be useful?" she sighs, turning to observe her reflection in the mirror. "I need a wedding dress, and if you won't help, I'm sure Lucy will."
With a patient smile, Hugo walks behind her, gently pulling her hair back. "I'm a bloke. Blokes and fashion don't mix," he says.
Rose groans, but she doesn't respond. Lips pulled into a frown, she tugs at the white silk. Hugo knows that she's picking herself apart, looking for any flaws.
"The one with the pearls around the neckline," he mumbles.
She meets his gaze, eyes wide in confusion. "What?"
"It brought out your complexion," he says in a tight, uncomfortable voice, wishing he didn't have to explain himself. "It was, you know, really pretty."
His sister considers this for a moment. Smiling, she turns around, pulling him into a hug and kissing his cheek. "My hero."
