again, i must apologize for somehow missing this gem! i LOVED it. the image of mary and patmore working together is such a riot and the reasoning behind their actions is perfect. i'm not sure if his letter was written in a sort of teasing way, or if he truly thinks mrs. hughes is trying to get rid of him but either way, it is so carson. i love that he doesn't want to break tradition with the (unbeknownst to him) fake mistletoe and that it turns into so much more than just a kiss. really, this was wonderful - favoring it right now!

Just beautiful! You write their dialogue so well - all the characters. I find sometimes when the dialogue seems to off it pulls me out of the story - but I can clearly hear them saying these words and the exact looks they would give. And anything that ends with a Chelsie kiss works for me! Merry Christmas!
