Fascinating story. I’m really glad that I found this on a rec list. I really like the way that you shifted the whole set of characters into this AU. I think a little more Aang would have been interesting, but I liked your approach in terms of dealing with the fact that he was way too young when they found him to have shouldered that burden.

I hoped pretty much until Zuko took Katara to see their ashes that Iroh would arrive and say “tricked you! Been here the whole time!” But you used his death as such a good object lesson for Zuko, and as a way to entrench his fears.

I loved your Zuko. And the way you wove the story together. Well do I believe that picking up all the threads presented challenges, but it was well done and I loved your original characters - Nayami and Tsumori most of all.

You did a great job! I found it a bit difficult to read the lengthy explainations at times, but I really enjoyed your premisr and character development. I love zuko and feel like you did him justice, and normally I hate katara but I found myself rooting for her here!

I just finished this beautiful story and I am so impressed and moved. The complexities of court in the fire nation is hard to tackle realistically but I think you nailed it. I often find fic writers have a hard time balancing katara and zuko as both vulnerable and strong but you got it! I was waiting for Hama and I would've loved more stories/time with the Gaang but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. I loved your portrayal of Ursa. I think one of my fav parts of this story is your realistic portrayal of abuse and it's effects. I also get like the progression of their relationship was organic and as realistic as it can get. It was hard but also reminded me of myself when katara started to realize things aren't black and white. And while she found happiness in her new life, she still enjoys the memory of her friends and simpler times- which does not detract from her current happiness.
This was incredible! One of the best zutura fics ive read!

Wow what a journey! I really enjoyed the plot but I did get confused sometimes. I don't understand why that Airbender took Zuko's breath away. I really liked seeing Katara and Zuko's family at the end and I enjoyed their little fluffy scenes.

Uh... if this court existed then how in the hell did Sozin happen? How did Chin happen during Kyoshi's time? How did Iroh let Ozai take his throne with this mechanism in the background? You kinda undid a lot of your own universe with this...

You write well... but these time skips really muddle your plot... and did you have to make Katara physically violent?

Hon... Avatar is NOT ANIME. Its a US made cartoon based off Asian culture (and more off Chinese than Japanese at that).

This story is truly the best of all avatar fanfictions, not only is it a complete new plot but it also includes a Great deal of details.
I've reas it countless of times, but the only thing I truly loathe and simply puts get me annoyed by just thinking about it is The last part, with the poison and all that, most of all Kataras reaction feels incredibly naive and folish by her. Yes she gets reasurances by the bloody avatar and tries to find out about the poison. But other then that she does absolutely nothing, no preperation for a potential hostile organisation whos actions endangers the stabiliy and future of The fire nation, herself, husband and child. She does not even try to find out more about the White lotus that are as far as she knows slowly murdering her lord husband. It's like "OH yes, The last time zuko dissapeared and was thought dead it all went so well, I definetly could keep it stabile and now I would most definetly also be able to protect my soon to be born child"
The fact that she does nothing against the White lotus makes her apear so.. Docile and naive, almost like she would be a pacifist.
I simply can't understad why she does not take any action against the White Lotus, while certainly her lord husband are in controll of the military either of them should perhaps at least mention preperations for the removal of a potential hostile organisation inside their borders? Not even a treath or warning that she would take actions or revenge.
