Awesome job with book 1! I really enjoyed reading this, it is definitely original. i'm glad Merlin and Gwen didn't try to produce an heir to Camelot, that would have been too weird...especially after she saw him transform into a cat!

Wow! What a mind you have! I'm looking forward to continuing this adventure in the next installment.

Very cute idea to have Merlin try to go back and relive his experiences and enjoy the good times more. Alas all good things must come to an end.

IDK If your a fan or even know what Supernatural is but I think our merlin could use some help from the Winchester brothers, they've become quite adept at circumventing destiny. lol. Although Kilgarrah's words about destiny being a stone path remind of of Doctor Who, time isn't linear like people think and there are certain events that are fixed and will happen no matter what, the Mordred situation is probably one of those. Really interesting story you have here, so glad I discovered it.

The non linear story line was confusing at first but it's getting easier to follow. I get what you mean how traditional linear story telling wouldn't work here. It would be depressing for one and the story wouldn't move fast enough to be interesting, this way you keep a bit of mystery and hope that Merlin will figure things out. Im defintiley going to have to read the story of Freo after this and catch up! ;)

Good story so far. The non-linear takes some getting used to and Merlin shape shifting? Wow. This last scene with him in cat form was too funny. Wish i could see it on screen hahaha.

Great take on what would happen after Camlann. MErlins attempts at changing the past were very well done and insightfull. His emotions realistic.
The switches in time did indeed do much for the story and wasn't confusing at all. It only added to the trepidation of is to come next - or rather before.

seems to me like a second lot of heartache - trying again to prevent something he already tried and failed to prevent - and failing again?

It's kind of ironic how things ended up. Arthur and Morgana died, so no more Arwen and Mergana. All that's left is Gwen and Merlin, which is funny since they were actually the first pairing in Merlin in season 1. hehe. I can kind of see them together, but they really are just best friends to me. Either way works.

I've always imagined Gwen to be more decisive than Arthur in some things (especially magic), which is why I'm glad you had her reinstate magic immediately. Additionally, I know her character is someone with a pure heart, that has no doubts in trusting her best friend.

Also, I love the closure with Morgana. I always thought that the writers/producers didn't give her a proper farewell. After 5 years, they give Merlin a couple of lines, and none for Morgana in her death scene (a scene that's only several seconds long). What the heck! I ship Mergana, but I am not asking too much. I still believe that Merlin at least cared for her.
