Great idea to explain how Dean learned to cook. Thanks for a great read.

Such a wonderful story! I love that Dean looked up Ms. Salters and wrote to her. I would love to see what he wrote and her reaction when she read the note.
Halmaethor chapter 1 . 5/4/2015
This is wonderful. I can't stop smiling after reading it. The concept is heartwarming, the characterisation is excellent and it's so well written. 'Good job' doesn't even begin to cover it!

Good story, though the whole way through i was waiting for a kid to end up in the chili.
werewolfsfan chapter 1 . 6/25/2014
I've always loved the idea of Dean cooking. It really does suit his personality.
Jily4 chapter 1 . 6/12/2014
Really excellent story! I loved all the cooking descriptions and Mrs. Salter is a real gem. Having people in the boys lives that take care of them is always so special. Dean talking with an adult that clearly liked him and learning how to cook was fabulous! Thank you for this story!
zekeschance chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
Just found this story and what a heartwarmer it was. Loved the premise and how you wrote it. Mrs. Salters idea was fabulous and I love that she taught all those kids how to cook. It really is true that the kitchen is the heart of the home. Thanks so much.

That was basically perfect, not gonna lie. Beautiful story!
K Hanna Korossy chapter 1 . 10/8/2013
This was a joy. I love food writing already, but to have that combined with a bit from the guys' past that I would have loved to have happened... It might be wishful thinking, but surely even Dean came across a few wise and supportive and kind adults in his life. I would definitely wish someone like this for him. And I can just imagine how much joy his letter brings Mrs. Salters. Lovely-in character but as comforting as the food Dean makes.
firstcatfish chapter 1 . 10/6/2013
I cried reading this. I am so glad I stumbled on this story. It was definitely worth reading and will be going on my favorites list. Thank you for writing it.
JennK528 chapter 1 . 10/6/2013
That was utterly, totally delightful, and PERFECT. :) I can really see that teenage Dean, in all his defensive glory, yet reluctantly pulled into the whole learning to cook if it helps out Sam. And earn Dean some pie, of course!

Lovely OC, and I love how she read Dean.

Wonderful job. Thanks for sharing!
