If Hermione can brew Polyjuice Potion in second I don't see why these two couldn't brew a love/lust potion in third. I can see doing something like this as extra credit and turning it in but like you said if used it would've been rape. Though that is still a grey area of the law I think. I'm not sure it the law states it is possible to rape a man. I do remember it getting to the high court but I don't remember which way it was decided. But the magical world being about one hundred or more years behind the muggle world it's entirely possible they don't consider it possible for a woman to rape a man regardless of Love/Lust potions.

Well, look at it this way, at least Hermione's using the Time-Turner to catch up on her sleep. This way she won't burn herself out using it like in canon. I've read a couple of stories where Harry steals Hermione's Turner to use before summer vacation. Another where he somehow made o copy but improved it as well. But I still think someone giving a student such an object is soft as a grape and easy to squeeze. I'd say something about a loaded gun to a child but unfortunately, too many people seem to do just that. And no safety courses on them either. Before I ever handled one my grandfather made sure I understood gun safety and obeyed it. Magicals simply hand out the equivalent of guns at age eleven with no safety precautions whatsoever. In canon does not Moody warn I think Harry about scratching an itch with his wand? Nowhere in canon is there anything about teaching children just how dangerous a wand can be. Long before the age of eleven I was shooting at a range with my grandfather making damn sure I obeyed ALL the rules of the range. Not of the kind can be found in the magical world. At least in the British Empire. Nothing is really said about the rest of Europe nor any other part of the world.

Frankly, I think the entire magical world is fruitloops! First giving a Time-Turner to a third year student just to take every class on every subject to the school offers is nuts! Then the dumbest of the dumb, the Tri-Wizards Tournament. The Ministry canceled it hundreds of years ago due to the death toll. So they bring it back in modern times and the first event s to get an egg from a nesting mother dragon. They totally disregard that it is common knowledge in the magical that you leave a nesting dragon alone! They are not cute and fuzzy! They are ill tempered monsters that WILL KILL AND EAT YOU for bothering them. Thus making it rather moronic to have them as the first task. Next to prove just how moronic they can be, the next task takes place underwater where no one can see what the champions are doing. The spectators are sitting an their arse in freezing weather watching the surface of the lake and seeing nothing for at least an hour. I wonder, has anyone checked for vacuum lock on the skulls of those that organized it? Maybe done a magical scan to see if they have any size brain within? Or maybe it just solid bone up there.

Well, McGonagall 's already one big step up on Fumbles. She hired a teacher who actually knows the subject and isn't A, a joke or B, a fraud. You didn't say who the DADA teacher was or is it still gonna be that fraud Lockhart? Could they possibly feed him to the Basilisk this? Though come to think of it, they better not. They might poison it at best. At worst, make it so stupid it forgets to breath.

Well the only way a school can get better is to fix whatever's broken. And Fumbles never saw anything broken that he couldn't break further. I hope McGonagall fired Snape like a cannon! And aimed him towards the North Atlantic somewhere. Or fairly close to South Africa where the Great White Sharks swim. Either way as long as he's gone baby gone! The man simply couldn't live in a school where he had to follow the rules. If he can't show favoritism towards his house he couldn't survive. AS for Binns, I'm asking if A, he still gets paid and more importantly B, who collects it? Last I knew ghosts don't need money. So to paraphrase a John Wayne movie, " Where's the money Dad? " Another really good question is where does all the money the school take in go to anyways? If Hogwarts was loosing that much money every year the school simply couldn't stay open. Not without somebody pouring tons of money into it several times a year. I know that implies that Fumblewhore was stealing from the school and I think he was.
