Well I have to say this is a wonderful premise, I love the concept of Healer Harry. I think the fact that he is going into healing not fighting is a truly beautiful choice, but its a choice that won't sit well with a lot of people, Dumbledore wants him to walk willingly to his death yes, and healer Harry would do so in a heartbeat but Dumbledore also wants him to be a symbol for fighting back against the dark, therein the conflict lies, I wonder how you will handle it.

I can see definitely being friends with Hermione. She would be ecstatic about him deciding healing is his true calling, As seen with her crusades for house elves and buckbeak, and standing up and helping the oppressed and downtrodden, she herself at the root of it loves helping others, I think together they could change the world for the better, I hope this turns into a Harry/Hermione story down the line, it would be such a perfect pairing for your theme.

Neville would likewise be a good friend for Harry, his love of herbology ties in with healing, and Harry will see his true potential and Neville will likewise appreciate who Harry has decided to be.

I can see Ron and a lot of others resenting and belittling Harry as a coward for not learning offensive spells and preferring to be in the hospital wing learning with Madam Pomphrey than hanging out with them, they are angry and disappointed that he doesn't live up to the image they had from the legend and storybooks.

For some reason I get the feeling that Snape would at least on some level approve of Harrys choice, because it reminds him of lilys caring attitude, I don't see him turning over a new leaf or anything, but I can see him giving him his personal notes on healing potions, balms, salves, ungents etc with the expectation that he turn in a perfect example of each before years end.

All in all this is a brilliantly written story, thank you for sharing it and I eagerly await your next update. favorited

I always wanted to see a story about harry as shy non-hero type instead of always rushing into trouble. A healer is perfect
