I've recently been re-watching The Newsroom and I remembered your fic and I'm so happy to find that it's still here! I was reading this when you were originally writing and I loved it so much and I love it just as much now!

You capture them both so well and I love how naturally their relationship evolves and all the background on their families and just how well their lives slot together. I adore the proposal(s) and wedding - it's so them and I've accepted this as canon!

When The Newsroom was cancelled, I was left wanting more not only from the show but Don and Sloan as well. I was rooting for them to get together and when they did, I enjoyed every moment of them as a couple. And it felt like we were just getting into that relationship when the show ended. Then I came across your story and it fulfilled my need for more Don/Sloan a dozen times over.

I didn't mind the non-chronological order. I found it exciting to figure out the placement of certain milestones while anticipating others. Like an emotional jigsaw puzzle. You wrote the Newsroom characters well, capturing their voices and personalities. The original characters, mainly Don and Sloan's families, were equally well-written.

The chapters featuring the families were among my favorite parts of the story. The Sandy Hook chapter was powerful. You perfectly captured the dread and horror of that event, and how the characters would deal with it. And I enjoyed reading the AU version of Election Day. Don and Sloan being together back then fitted seamlessly.

It was perfect how you ended the story with the beginning. Don and Sloan starting something with no idea of what's ahead unlike us. You've left me satisfied and a bit sad that my time in this universe is over. Well done.

Wow, super late to the game but I just found the newsroom and this fanfiction and I am absolutely in love with both! Wish the series could have explored Sloan and Don like you did! Great work!

Rereading this for the umpteenth time. I just wanted to say this chapter is so beautifully written. It really captures the day and their emotions so well. (Apparently I've already reviewed this chapter. Sorry for the Anon review!)

Loved the Eliot ring shopping bit and the story of his own proposal. You are right that Eliot was underutilized in the show.
And I can't really imagine the Don/Sloan proposal(s) going any other way now. It is very them. Good job : )

I've loved this whole story so far (just found it a couple days ago,) but this chapter was spectacular. You handled Sandy Hook and the character reactions with great skill. I look forward to reading the rest of their story!

I'm re-reading these one shots because it's so well writen. And there's a serious lack of good Sloan/Don stories. And I hope you'll write more of Thicker Than Forget. Anyway, now that the show's over, I'm craving for more.
