I know this sound a bit strange to some viewers, but after seeing some of the other DBZ what-ifs, I actually kinda wish Raditz comes back later on. I've been thinking that Goku, Raditz, Tarble, and Vegeta would make a good quartet of Saiyan protectors of Earth. Still, pretty awesome chapter, dude!

Now we get to see how Great Ape Tarble does in the fight! I really like this story, and I really, really, REALLY hope you can keep it going!

To be fair, Shenron can technically revive someone who has been dead for more than a year, it's just that he can't heal or recreate their body, leaving them pretty likely to just die again and waste the wish. I don't think Porunga's limits were specified outside of only being able revive one person per wish.

Also, Oolong did not wish specifically for Bulma's panties. In the JP version he just wished for "a pretty girl's panties", which could be anyone's, or "the world's most comfortable pair of underwear" in the English version.

Lore corrections aside, I'm glad this story is active. It's got an amazing premise, and uses a character who is seriously neglected by canon and a lot of fans. Tarble is adorable, and I love how you portray him. He's a lot like Gohan, as a sort-of pacifist who's only willing to fight for the right reason, and merciful even when he does fight. I really can't wait to see how they interact, especially on and after Namek, where grudges concerning Tarble's role when he arrived should fade. Depending how things play out, I could see a few different scenarios play out on Namek, and I'm curious if any of it will happen.

I'm following this story. Please don't ever give up on it. It would really suck if this story fell into the abyss of cancelled/uncompleted works of art.

It really is Tarble or bust until they can get to Namek with this development. It sends the story in a unique direction for sure.

But...Dr Wheelo may have also given Tarble his best chance at getting stronger. He won't get far fighting others weaker than himself, but someone pushing him to the edge of dying for a change will force him stronger. So it's really a blessing, if he does get broken a bit by the biomen.

With Wheelo not understanding Saiyan biology he could make his own undoing. Also Earth still has a moon and Tarble could go full intelligent beast on Wheelo even if he is near death or defeat. Z fighters and even Wheelo may assume he will rampage after the transformation, but Tarble likely shares that ability with Vageta.

On that note, could Tarble train Goku in this technique? Again it would sway the fight with Vegeta/Napa. Granted Vegeta may not risk his false moon technique with Tarble in the battle anyways

After giving it some thought, outside of Shenron being able to fudge a few weeks difference, the only thing that might work would be...

Remember how Piccolo Daimao killed Shenron right after he made his wish and Kami revived Shenron like not even a week later and the dragon balls were already ready because Kami basically refreshed them?

And how Dende said he could make a new dragon in only a few months?

Assuming those two are related, presumably, Kami could dispell and remake the dragon balls as a fresh set just in time to revive Goku...

But that seems like a lot of work, and requires them to remember they can do that, which... Kami probably doesn't.

Though if they know about the year limit the first thing they'd ask upon finding out they'd gotten screwed out of it would be to ask Kami if anything could be done, so...

Man Kotchin and Wheelo really screwed them. Like, the dragon ball thing hurt more than most likely anything else they're gonna manage to do.

Welp, unless Shenron's revival time limit is different for this fic, Goku's never coming back now.

Even if they gather them all within minutes of them reactivating, they'll be a few days to late.

Porunga doesn't have a time limit on that as far as I know, so maybe there, but... Namek arc without a super saiyan doesn't go well for anyone but Freeza- wait, the Namekians rigged their dragon so only they could get wishes, so nope, everybodies fucked.

Super Saiyan Tarble or bust.

Since unless you changed it or forgot, Shenron can only revive someone within a year of them dying, and it takes a year for the dragon balls to recharge, so they can't wait two years or Goku can't come back.

And if the Dragon is summoned for literally any reason, Goku can't come back, because by the time they recharge he'll have been dead to long.

What makes it worse is Wheelo and Kotchin just used it to deice their fucking house, the biomen probably could have done that after awhile.

Glad to see the update! I'm interested to see what you do to get Tarble closer in power scale to Nappa and Vegeta. It will be interesting that an actual Saiyan will be there for Z fighters. If I recall they used memories from past Saiyans to fight, but a living person gives a real perspective on the abilities. So will they train harder than canon? Happy to see what you have planned, happy writing!

I somewhat had the same idea but decided not to go with it. I like this and I'm gonna follow it. Nice job.
