I loved this. Of course I feel like the sex is better when you get to know the characters. I'm glad Harry got his self-esteem back and Draco learned to love. I get not liking formulaic writing. It's awful and cheesy. I want to roll my eyes at most of it because that really has never happened to me, or it's been a while anyway. But both sets of my grandparents said they fell in love at first sight as difficult as that is to believe. One side met once, communicated with letters the old fashioned way, then got married two months later which was also the second time they had ever seen each other. That's insane. My logical brain would never be comfortable with that.

DrarryLoverMalfoy, you're getting the movie version confused with canon. In JKR's book version, it was Crabbe, Goyle, and Draco in the RoR and it was Vincent Crabbe who cast the Fiendfyre spell. Blaise was not involved at all. The movies are entertaining in their own way but so many liberties were taken with JKR's original plot that the movies quite diverged enough from canon to be almost fan fiction themselves. For example of how far off the mark the movies could have strayed, the original plan in the movies, according to Jason Isaacs, was to have Lucius dressed as a muggle in sharp business suits, and not the intimidating elaborate robes a bigoted pure blood wizard would have worn in canon.

Sorry to diverge from a standard review but I felt it important to address that comment for the sake of other readers who may only be familiar with or remember the movie version and for whom this story might therefore not make sense. Xena-Dragon kept true to canon and for that I heartily applaud this story.

Awww, I just love sappy romances! Not that this was too sappy. I enjoyed the twists and turns the mystery took.
