I love love love this fic, it's my favorite merman au of all and I've re read it so many times! You truly know how to develop a relationship, craft a story (I read the story you linked, the emperors old bones. It fit so well and colored this story with just the right amount of suspense, cruelty, and beauty we all love from the TV series) Amazing!
Just a tiny nitpick thing: Hannibal would never refer to himself as a cookhe is a chef. A chef is a highly trained professional, Hannibal would be insulted by "cook". But you see my only criticism is over a little wordbecause this story is otherwise perfect to me!

I think that's one of the first of your Hannigram fics I read, this one. Sorry I didn't leave a comment back then because I was reading on AO3 and that website always scares the crap out of me, so, upon noticing you were also on FF net I thought it would be just the occasion to finally tell you how much I love your stories.

I love AUs, even more so when they're fantastically written, clever, and with unbelievably good smut, so, stumbling across a writer like you, it's like... I don't know, stumbling across a chest full of gold, or going downstairs on Christmas mornings and the Christmas tree is almost disappearing under all the presents, and... okay I'm gonna stop there with the metaphors.
So there's that.

At first I was like, wait, a merman AU, what the hell, this is too weird even for me, but you have this strange and wonderful ability to make just about everything WORK, I read the first chapter because I was curious anyway AND I JUST COULDN'T STOP because it's sooooo perfect, so well-written, so entrancing. There's a thing I love in your stories, it's that Hannibal is still a big fucker but he also genuinely loves Will (well... in his own unique way anyway) and I find it the perfect balance, not too cruel and not too cheesy, just perfect.

So ! Sorry it took me so long to finally leave a comment. From now on I'll try to leave more !

love this :) it was beautifully written and actually what got me hooked on Hannibal fanfiction and even got me to start to watch the show. i would have liked to see what Hannibal thought after the change tho I liked the bit bout what he looked at as a mermaid.

Beautiful story. I hope you at least write a follow up of what happened afterward? I'm guessing Hannibal may have been a little upset at first and have to reestablish dominace... After all, you did tease us with smut earlier...

Oh gosh, this story was excellent! This last week I've been reading all of your Hannibal works; and I must say, I love how you write them! This story in particular I really enjoyed. I love the supernatural, and I loved how you wrote the interaction of the two. Wills fear of being served by a Hannibal chef was particularly a nice touch! ;D

Think you'd ever write another mermaid/will story? Or captive creature/Will to a human Hannibal? There's something about that theme I adore, and you're writing is spot on!

Even if you finished this story the last month, I'd like to say that your story is just so original ! I loved the way you ended it, I didn't think Hannibal was aimed to be a merman like Will, and it surprised me a lot :P. It really was a pleasure to read all the chapters and I thank you for this :)

So beautiful.. *v* I would have loved to read about Hannibal's reaction to his new state and the transport to the ocean, but I could settle with this ending too :) I haven't read another fanfic involving mermen more well written as this one. I really enjoyed every chapter of it and I'm sad to see that it's so short. I absolutely love how Will look as a merman and damn, what wouldn't I give to see fanart of it :3

Loved the chapter. Making Abigail the most dangerous of the father and daughter duo is nice. I also wish Hannibal could expand the tank a bit more. I feel bad for Will! Especially that last sentence D;
