His mental state is such a mess, especially in that house, that he's too distracted to be reliable in taking care of himself (in the fighting enemies sense, his lack of care for his health seems pretty consistently in the red zone) and THAT'S why they need K unit
And it's them in particular because maybe some familiar faces are less likely to trigger either overlaying memories or panic-induced attacks
Maybe even HEAL that mental state somewhat
