You did an amazing job with this. Lestrade doesn't get much attention in comparison to John and Sherlock, and it's always lovely to find a well-written introspective piece that focuses on him. I particularly liked this line: "There was something that felt eerily similar to an epiphany in the air, and he didn't need that at the moment."

It was sad and hopeful and gloomy all at once. Very thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
