I always hated it and thought it un-Samish that he didn't look for Dean after the shit in season 7. I guess I can just fill this in there(:

OMG...that whole ending was just brilliant, from the pain Sammy had to go through, the awesome rescue, and the WONDERFUL, albeit gradual rebuilding of the bond between them and them FINALLY reaching a point where they can talk about so much that needs talking about! Benny is great in this and SO understanding and supportive of wanting them to patch things up. Great job!

Well, glad that Benny FINALLY came through for Sam at the beginning of this chapter...the fact that he actually admitted hesitating when Sam expressed his surprise made it a bit more okay...monster self-preservation instinct and all, LOL!

Love that Sam got to learn at least a little bit more about purgatory and, more importantly, the promises that Dean had extracted from Benny AND even more so, his threat that, even if Sam DID go after Benny, if Benny hurt him, Dean would end him.

So now everybody is in deep doo-doo! Dean's in REALLY bad shape, and I suspect Sam may be there before long, too. For some sick, twisted reason I loved Luc's threat to make sure Dean lived long enough to watch Sam get skinned alive and then sucked dry...what a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE thing to EVER be subjected to even the threat of. (Of course, in the next paragraph Luc suggests Dean's not gonna live long enough to hear Sam screaming, so not sure WHAT his plan is, but obviously the former is better, LOL!) Anway, hope to finish this later today! Loving it so far.

This was intense. Wouldn't it be great to get all of that crap out in the open for them though...

Finally got to read the first few chapters and catch up on all the comments so far! ABSOLUTELY LOVING this story so far! I didn't want to like Benny but couldn't help it...even through I hated the way Dean kept throwing him in Sam's face. You deal with that very well here, Tammy...very true to the show. And I love how you have Benny realizing that THAT is probably what's REALLY behind Sam's issues with him!

And THANK YOU for FINALLY bringing up Lenore! How the show writers didn't at least MENTION her at some point is beyond me!

Loved the coded phone call from Dean and his last words to Sam...made me tear up a little bit later on when Dean was thinking about it and that he needed Sam to know that, and Sam's realization that that meant Dean knew he was in some really serious Trouble.

Sam's interaction with Benny so far has been spot on - wary, and angry and not at all happy about it but willilng to do whatever needs to be done. And Benny rings true, too. He's been around a hell of a long time and can see the situation for what it is and is very understanding of it - still cautious about being near Sam but not overly worried...or hiding it well. Not even really resentful of Sam's animosity towards him.

The twist with Luc being Benny's brother...NICE! He truly sound creepy and sadistic and I'm sure we're going to end up with Dean in terrible shape before this is done.

And then throw in Shane...WTH? Loved Garth's call to Dean and the first hint Dean had that not only HAD Sam looked for him, but that something bad had gone down in the process. Looking forward to learning more about THAT story!

And horrible timing for that to come to the forefront, of course, and just left Sam down and bleeding in the parking lot. I admit to reading the first couple of lines of Chapter 4 after Benny was actually HESITATING and CANNOT F'ING BELIEVE Benny let Shane take that second shot which, by all rights, very likely COULD have been into Sam's head! WTF? I was liking him and trusting him to keep his promise to Dean, and he let's the guy get in that second shot? Chapter 4 BETTER redeem THAT maneuver! I'm a little pissed off right now and had to stop reading, LOL! (Oh, and Dean making Benny promise to watch out for Sam if something happens to him...totally in character. But still can't believe Benny didn't take Shane down before that shot. shit!)

This is how the writers should have written it, that Sam started to look for Dean but quit for one reason or another. They could still have the angst of Sam quitting, but at least Sam had tried. But then again, the only people that could have gotten Dean out of Purgatory was angels and a resident of Purgatory. But great story as usual and can't wait for more to come.

Wow! You did amazing yet again! :D Boy...this chapter was freakishly long...but felt really short :P Awesome work! I truly loved every single bit of it. Especially the all so adorable brotherly moment you put in at the end! :D Thanks for yet another amazing story!
