I've read literally hundreds of fics from Mass Effect, and it's a crime how few of them mention any sort of substance abuse. Shepard hangs out with dangerous risk-takers - exactly the kind of person who uses drugs.

All that being said, you have a flair for writing in metaphor. You also did a topnotch job of describing what it is like to have sex under the influence of a major hallucinogen / dissociative. There is a lot of trust involved in such a thing, and you nailed it perfectly.

So this was...odd and I actually really enjoyed it. Great detail and use of metaphors. Sometimes I just kinda went 'uhm okay' but it works. Nicely done.
