Reviews for Moments in Time
Annber03 chapter 18 . 2/14/2018
I love that last line :). I like the idea that Reid doesn't go the typical route that Rossi expects him to, with some long, rambling explanation of how he knows this information. I definitely think Reid's done well at learning when to ramble and when to just let his stated facts speak for themselves over the years :). And I like that you acknowledge him seeming almost amused by Kate's questions, instead of offended. Indeed, he's mature enough, and knows these guys well enough, by now to where he understands they don't mean anything bad by these kinds of comments. I think he definitely enjoyed the light banter this provided him and Kate.

I also like how Rossi is a bit surprised by Kate and Morgan questioning Reid, but not annoyed with them for it. Yeah, they shouldn't be surprised by how much he knows by now (though Kate still being a bit surprised isn't quite so unusual, since she hasn't worked with him nearly as long as Morgan has), but I also get the whole, "Seriously, how DO you know that?" reaction, too. My dad was kinda like Reid in that he knew about so many things, and despite knowing this fact, my family would still occasionally have that reaction from time to time :p. It can be a bit daunting sometimes to think about the fact that some people just truly know THAT much stuff off the top of their head, to where you feel like there's got to be some other explanation available :D.

Still, I love that Rossi just immediately assumes Reid is right, and does his part to back him up. I loved this whole scene in that episode (Hotch giving Reid a fistbump afterward was priceless :D), and I like your take on Rossi's observations here. Nice chapter, as always, and it's good to see this updated again :).

It was an excellent take on the scene. Im glad youre back.

In Australia, they are showing repeats of Season 10 paired with Season 1, for some weird reason xD and yes, you can really see the difference, how Spencer has grown up, in every sense.

Thank you.

I have always wanted to write something about this scene. People seem to like it because it shows Reid sticking up for himself, but I've always hated it because it shows how much he needs to, even with his "family". Callahan made it sound like she was teasing, but she was still essentially questioning both his abilities and his integrity. What does the team think, that he's been running a ten-year con job on them? No one defended him except Rossi with his fact-checking (and even that's open to interpretation), but Morgan really seemed to go out of his way to be a jerk. He refused to apologize by fist-bumping Reid, leaving his so-called little brother hanging until Hotch took pity on him, and by the look on Morgan's face he even seemed surprised and offended that Reid should expect such a thing when all the time Reid was really giving him a way out and all Morgan had to do was not be a sore loser.

I know Reid's not a kid and can defend himself, but it's nice to have friends stick up for you, or *at least* not have the people who know you best in the world still doubting you after knowing you for over a decade. Plus, to quote British comedian David Mitchell, "We are in trouble as a species if people refuse to believe in things that they couldn't actually do themselves." Quite likely I'm taking this too seriously, but this entire scene showed a complete lack of imagination and seemed to be a completely unnecessary instance of "let's bully the smart guy again."

Yeah, it's a sore point with me.

Anyway, great writing. The pacing and style are well done and Rossi's insight is a nice bit of character work.

I always love seeing Reid and Rossi moments. And this one in particular was just so much fun because Reid was all so sure and confident in himself!

this scene is always one of my favorite scenes due to Spencer and Hotch giving each other a fist bump that proved that Hotch was on Spencer's side.

Nice analysis of a scene that quite impressed me. Not that I had my own doubts that Reid is a very capable agent but we rarely see him in physical take-downs (at least not in the same way as e see Morgan do it). I like the whole "don't judge a book by its cover" theme you have used for Reid and utilised this scene from the episode as a perfect example of "don't mess with Reid because he's tougher than he looks and he sure smarter!".

Loved this! Reid was so great, so fun to see him analyze the situation and know what would work for him and how to use it all to his advantage!

I need to watch that episode. I think Reid does better than many people think, of course he is perfectly able to catch the unsub.

Thank you!

One of my favorite episodes. Well written.

I resented Emily saying she lost 6 friends. Cheetobreath kept her informed playing scrabble in other stories. 96 Hubbles and Maxandkix each have a great story about this episode.
fishtrek chapter 11 . 8/2/2016
I love this! I love Rossi Reid father son stories! My favorite storyline.
fishtrek chapter 10 . 8/2/2016
I am loving all the stories, but the uncanny valley is a favorite for a number of reasons. Great ideas. Great writing.
