Gah, well, no matter how the rest of this goes, you've certainly made an impression with this first chapter. I love the supernatural theme, and that ending packed a damn hard punch (it took my brain longer to wrap around the meaning of it than it should have, and I'm pretty sure I can chalk that up to complete and utter denial.) Painful as it may be, the effect is delicious, and I'm a sucker for getting myself unexpectedly jarred like that.
