I wonder why I haven't found it earlier and I really hope that you are going to continue this :)

I have to say I love your story. But I wanted to point out that Dorumon's evolution Dorugamon actually only gains two feet in height, though he still has a rideable size, he actually only comes to a human teen's shoulder. I'm using the movie X Evolution and size comparisons to character that have been seen in the series along side other characters. He actually gets to be the size of Greymon or a little bigger when he hits his next evolution at Dorugreymon. And if you want to use it for a plot twist, Dorumon also had a virus based alternate evolution called DexDorumon/DexDorugamon/DexDorugreymon. These are kind of like the 'dark' versions of it. Said to be formed from a Dorimon (The baby form of Dorumon) or Dorumon who's data has been corrupted. I had actually written a story a couple years ago with a character who came to DATs under odd circumstances with a Dorumon. THough I did it with the knowledge that the viral vs. data stats could help make for an interesting story. I never got around to putting it up here though. Maybe I should...

I really like this story. It's well written and very interesting. It would be really cool if Merri got a digimon of her own. Maybe it could help her gain more confidence. I hope Naomi and those other girls don't bully Merri, she already has enough to deal with. And I love the bonding moments between Marcus and Merri. Keep them coming! ; ) I'll patiently be waiting for the next chapter.
