I will definitely go back to this story a few times as I feel disappointed that they closed the door for so many funny and deeply interesting moments that could happen in the show as they decided not to make them a couple (although I understand why they did it, I would love to see something like this to happen). I have absolutely no shame in admitting that I giggled inanely after reading that last paragraph. This is perfection! You've captured Sherlock's thought process so very perfectly! His initial denial, then research, then slight acceptance, then scheming, then execution of a plan that involved Joan without telling Joan, then a resolution. In this case, a very, very happy one. *squee!* Oh yes, that last scene on the beach was undeniably my favorite part. I still can't stop smiling!

Funnily enough, even though the only reason I like these two is that they are a man and a woman who are friends and nothing else, I still enjoyed this story. Odd, isn't it?
