i thought I'd read this before and found my bookmark for it about half-way through. It's still just as good as it was the first time I read it! Now onto the sequels!

I've always had a problem with them forcing Harry, someone underage, to compete due to a magically binding contract. As a minor he wouldn't be able to legally sign a binding contract. Only with his guardian's permission could that be done and even in canon he didn't have that.

Does anyone remember Diablo II? Every time I see that moldering Greater Good nonsense I am reminded of the quest The Golden Bird:

"Ormus remembers the tale of Ku Y'leh. That venerable sage forgot that there is no life beyond death. There is only life. Once prolonged unnaturally, it can become a living hell."

Apply his wisdom to this Greater Good bushwah and you get this; there is no Greater Good, only good. Once extrapolated unnaturally, it can become truly Hellish.

As you can probably tell, I loathe "greater Good" excuses and justified abuses. So this kind of Albus is always at risk of an omnidriectional kick in the jimmy.

I usually try to avoid reading authors’ notes, because they often give away spoilers by accident. However, I noticed that people seem to be harping on your choices about your own fic. That’s just silly. If they don’t like what you’ve done with this world, they should just stop reading. I am enjoying your world, and your characterizations are just wonderful.
