This is such a beautiful and wonderful story! Don't give up on it. I just finished my 3rd read thru and can't wait for the rest not matter when it comes. The Thorin/Bilbo slow burn is killing me and I can't wait until they hash things out between them!

Hi! I've started this story about 2 or 3 times and just like with the hobbit itself I've always sat it down halfway through because I do not have the attention span to get past maybe the 25th chapter. But I made myself sit and do it this time and it was 100% worth it! I really love this story! I love how the progression felt natural and everything just fit

Fem Bilbo probably would have been named after a flower or plant, as seems common amongst Hobbits. Her mother was named Belladonna after all. Bilbo is definitely not a nickname for Billanna, and it sounds pretty awful to call a girl Bilbo no matter what. Frodo would still be born to Drogo and Primula, and was named after his father, so it makes no sense that Billanna would name her own son that. Drogo, Frodo... I'm sure you're seeing a theme there. Likely, she would honour the Durins in some way by giving him a name that speaks to his father's heritage and would be worthy of a prince of Erebor. I also dislike that you kept Bungo alive, since there's no way in hell he would have allowed his daughter to run off unchaperoned with a group of dwarves. Nor would Thorin have ever agreed to take her in the first place.

This work is amazing! You write very well! I’m sad to see that you haven’t been inspired to write more of this story but I hope you do come back and finish it!

As I read this fic it’s like a movie in my brain. I can see Bungo tapping his cane into the ground to get the rascals’ attention and to get them to shut up, I can see Thorin clutching his chest, feeling the ring over his heart, I can see the furrow in his brow. It’s like I’m actually there, feeling the rocks beneath my feet. I so desperately want Bilbo and Thorin to meet and have a happy moment together, some fluff to ease my heart after all of this suspense. (I know I’m going to get some delicious and juicy arguments though so I’m excited either way.) just wanted to say that I love you and that I appreciate your skill and artistry with this fic!

I have to gather strength to read the next chapter every time I hit next. You balance it so well! The suspense of wondering what will happen, the teases of tragedy, but the soft trickle of hope as well. Masterful, one of the best five I’ve read in a long time. I’ve eaten through a third of it in a few hours I think! Thank you for sharing this with us, it’s a masterpiece.
