The way I see it, (in the books) he was oh so brave when he thought Percy, and then Thalia, would be Kronos' host and then when it was clear neither of them would he was to be instead he tried to bail out and didn't care who he dragged with him *Annabeth*. His last resort was to make himself look like the hero. An Emmy winning act. Hermes's failure was staying close to May and Luke in the beginning. If he had stayed away instead May wouldn't have had a chance to convince him to take her to CHB to try and host the oracle. I mean c'mon. She wasn't a maiden anymore, she had a lover and a child. Isn't the latter the reason why the Oracle would reject someone, so they won't try to change their child's fate with the knowledge they get? Plus, Luke don't get to say his daddy didn't do enough, 'cause he wasn't attacked by monsters in his house because Hermes put a shield around the property to keep monsters away. So, no, not relatable at all. |
