This is probably one of my favorite mass effect fics. Like seriously.. I'm so happy that it updated!

I cant wait for more! I love the dynamic between them, and how you write it. I wish I had a childhood friend like Shepard.

I always wondered why there was a huge freaking window over her bed. Psychological torture on the part of TIM or someone just didn't think about it. I'm glad I'm not the only one whose Shepard couldn't deal with it.

I love how Joker comes to her rescue, how he pushed past his guilt - which was brilliantly described by the way - knowing she might not want anything to do with him. But seeing her fall asleep on his shoulder was beautiful. He's the one person she does trust and probably the best person to help her.

I love their relationship, it makes me believe that everything will be alright. Awesome chapter.

Ah, the perils of teenage girls. Even Shepard's finding that one difficult, and Joker's face when she explains it was priceless!
If only Shepard could see into the future and all the diplomacy coming her way... ;p

It's great how you acknowledge the effect even a small time apart can have on the two of them as their different environments change them, but they soon get back in chime with each other as Joker sees that some things don't change when it comes to Shepard!

Ah, I like the way you introduced Kaidan so that he and Joker have a history before the Normandy. If only Shepard had gone along...
Her protectiveness over Joker was so evident, and I think Alenko probably saved that guy's life, not to mention Joker's!

Poor Joker. He's doing the best he can, but Shepard's a challenge as much as dealing with life in general, and he always seems to be at the losing end! That teacher's comment just compounded everything he's up against.
But his concern for his friend is real, even if the answer to her changes in behaviour was unexpected! Shepard really is determined.

I'm really enjoying the relationship you've created between Shepard and Joker. You set up their characters so well in their younger selves.

Oh dear, Joker's mouth running away without him already. Guess it started getting him into trouble even at an early age. I was holding my breath there for a moment though, the thought of him being beaten into pieces wasn't pleasant.

I almost cheered when I saw the notice for an update, loving this story. Glad you could get back to it but we all understand that life gets in the way sometimes. I know I'll still be here whenever you get the chance to update.
