This was a pleasant read. The Everlost trilogy is a childhood favorite of mine that I recently scooped off of the school library shelf again to reread. I haven't started yet, so I figured I'd read some fanworks to see how much I remember. It's fitting I came across a story about Miss Hightower's reflections. I remember how much I cried for that "non-existent boy" in middle school.

"... a nonexistent boy."
I can't figure it out. Who?
And I agree. This fandom should be way bigger. Maybe we should all team up and "halfjack" people into reading these fanfics...
