I love how so man of the impressive and majestic things in the movies we gape at so much to Thorin are apparently accidents and/or distressingly unexpected. And how much time he spends apparently bullshitting his way through almost /everything/. So much cursing, I am not surprised by, given the way the world likes to shit on them. :D This is really fun! Are you ever going to continue the third movie? I never actually saw it, partly because of how badly my friends reacted to it, partly because I am fail with movie theaters and schedules and all.

...He does have a point there. Well, he has a lot of points, but the last one, about the wood. I understand it'd be the most available and affordable material, but they /are/ right next to a mountain KNOWN to house a fire breathing dragon. Being out in the middle of the lake is only so much of a defense when nearly the entire town is still extremely flammable, particularly since it's a FLYING, fire-breathing dragon.
The short lives of Men can lead to short-sighted-ness, apparently.

This is more likely than not the most unbelievably funny story has to offer. Not even just in the Hobbit fandom. The idea of Thorin -big badass, King Under the Miuntain, Thorin- thinking this things is brilliant. The sarcasm and sass makes it infinitely unreachable in the entertainment area. There's too many hilarious things to point each and every one out, but his reaction to whatever Bilbo does, and to obvious exclamations are high on top. That and *elves*.

Sorry to annoy you a year and a bit later, but I thought this story more than worth the review :)
