*sniff* I always love these stories that show the boys' and Thorin's relationship through the years and come to a wonderfully teary-eyed conclusion during the Battle of Five Armies. Yes, I cried a bit. Yes, I'm happy to have done so. The character moments you slipped in, such as Dís knowing that Thorin has a wooden sword for Fíli, are beautiful. And the way Fíli comes to talk to Thorin... *happy sigh* Wonderfully, wonderfully written.

Mind-blowingly emotional and made me weep like a baby at my desk during my lunch break! Beautifully written as stand-alone, and especially poignant when read alongside your other Durin fanfics. What an incredible interpretation of these characters' final scenes together. I will have to invest in Kleenex shares before I go to see the third movie.

I think I used half a box of tissues on this. This was heartbreakingly good.
