There's another reason (both in Xander's case and in Ziva's case) - krav maga. Israeli-originated martial arts. Almost certainly Ziva is trained in it - Xander would want to learn it. There is one - and only one - OTHER place to learn it - the only krav maga dojo in Washington, DC (five miles south of NCIS HQ) - yes; it's on a military installation. If I had the opportunity to train there, I'd take it myself (yes - it's real; I've known OF it since 1990 - I was employed on the installation in question). In other words, I don't blame Ziva; don't blame Xander, either. (I'd bet Xander doesn't blame Ziva, when it comes down to brass tacks.) What doubtless drives Xander up a tree, is that Ziva reminds Xander of either Buffer - or Faith.

The director of Mossad: scared stupid. Gibbs' boss: ALSO scared stupid. Wisp: Willow (Will o' the Wisp.) Her rep in the hacker community is scarier than Jenny Calendar's used to be - and she was one of those that trained Willow. Xander's weapon kit is bigger than Gibbs' toolbag. Four pistols, three knives, AND a shotgun? Following up with three edged weapons (aside from the knives) - all different?

This was a great story. I love Xander-centered fics that doesn’t have all the irrational bashing. Thank you for sharing.
