I love this story.
I think I was maybe 17 when I first read it? You were still updating actively, and I'd read the first 15 or so chapters before deciding that this was the type of story I wanted to read all in one go. So I bookmarked it to my computer and checked it religiously before I fell out of the fandom because (ironically) I thought I was too old. It took a few years, but I found it among my dozens of bookmarked stories and fell in love with it all over again. And again. And then again. It became one of those stories I would just pull out and turn over in my hands like a smooth riverstone. Anytime I felt too old or too young or too cynical or too naive, I'd think about this story and the joy and heartbreak it housed. I must have reread this thing a dozen times by now, and everytime, there's something new that I relate to in some new way.
And now, I'm staring down the barrel of my 25th birthday, and I've stopped justifying my joy in children's stories when others question it. The things they teach - perseverance in the face of adversity, mindful kindness over thoughtless cruelty, empathy and understanding despite fear - are things I want to be reminded of. There's no shame in it. There's no "I know it's weird, haha." There's only the fact that children's stories are teaching stories, and their lessons are ones we should never forget.
So, thank you for this story. It has the complexities I enjoy as an adult, but maintains the sweet, curious nature of a children's book without any sense of condescension or a patronizing moral. I hope you continued with this craft, even if it wasn't with this story, and I hope the world has treated you kindly in the meantime.

It's been a long time since I've read this and it still delights me so. I've remembered because of Olaf's fun facts of "water holds memories" and ooOoOoh~ water is no elephant but maybe tooth might be wrong. Or maybe the elephant shares and the water just keeps memories like a treasure until it is found. In the movie, they only found the memory because of magic. Still a delight to read again.

A suspect I'm just yelling at clouds, but on the off chance Esse is reading reviews - know that there are still people who would love to see this continued. It's a beautiful story, and I dearly hope you'll be inspired to write more on it.

Honestly the best of this chapter for me was the end with Pitch claiming Jack as family simply because his daughter has claimed Jack as her own. My heart just melted, seriously.

I wish this fic wasn't dead. You know what, I'm gonna make a spell of belief that it isn't dead. So there.

In regards to Jack's age, he /could/ be tall fourteen or fifteen. I think everyone just goes with the sixteen-eighteen bracket because Jack really is mature under all his mischief.

I'm pretty sure that I've already read this story many times, possibly more than 5 in the past year. But it's so unbelievably fantastic, I just love how it's written and the themes. So... I'm reading it again. Its that good.

I realize it's been quite a few years, but I was wondering, are you ever planning on continuing this story? It's absolute perfection. Even though it's not done, I come back to read it every few months. Your style of writing is simply magical.

Book!Bunny talking to Jack. This was one of the sweetest and most heartwarming things I have ever read. I love how well you captured Bunnymunds character.

But...but...where are the rest of the buttons? How do I get to the next chapter? Jack didn't meet back up with North yet! He hasn't reunited with Thaddeus to make up from their misunderstanding. Jack never had the tragic, fateful meeting with bunny during the blizzard of 68. Please come back! This story is amazing! Such a unique take on the characters, engaging storyline, and I'm way more interested and invested in Jack's relationship with Thaddeus burgess than I have any right to be.

You were writing for 13 years before this, what made you stop so suddenly? What made you give up what you loved for over 5 years?
