Stunningly written, headcanon accepted! It totally makes sense she'd come visit him when he's retired. My only tiny nitpick is that you say Vastra relinquished the teapot and cups, which means she let them go, when what I think you mean is she picked them up, perhaps 'procure' would be comparable.

Sad but so beautifully done. The lines: 'He saw a woman in a white suit connecting the plug, ushering her own death, he saw a red head's fierce determination, changing the inevitable future, he saw a Roman's loyalty, spanning for two millennia.' Are just so... asdghj. Words have failed me.

Well done. I liked that River and Clara meet and that part of her concern is for how the Doctor may treat his future companion in his current state.

I was relieved to know that the Doctor's cruelty to River was a result of him believing himself to be delusional.

That was incredibly moving. I think you did a marvellous job though, capturing the Doctor's grief and River's essence. Painfully realistic at times, but still beautiful, this was great.

I really liked it, apart from the fact that it completely broke me. It was a really wonderful portrayal of all characters. The story was believable and I really believed that the Doctor could actually do such a thing to her. I was about to cry for at least half of the story. Great job and you can gladly continue if you want to. Anyway it was fantastic.

I always enjoy your writing, and this is no exception. Great story I feel so sad, and yet hopeful that the future will be good to the Doctor.

I liked that Melody Pond has such a grand reputation on Sontar. How do Jenny and Vastra know River since it's before Demon's Run for them (since Strax is alive)?

And I wish the Doctor would get it that River couldn't stay on the TARDIS after Manhattan because he's supposed to go to his wife's younger versions or he'll destroy their timelines!

I also wish Moffat would stop cutting River out of her family's life: first the Doctor last Christmas special, then her parents through Series 7 and PS, and now in this Christmas special. She used to be the most important person to him; now she's just become someone at the bottom of the list. Even the companion he doesn't know has more of an impact than she does.
