me reading the ending and getting just as frustrated as the first time i read it, despite knowing the outcome. it should come as no surprise, but it still hits different
while reading, i had many crack scenes play through my head of what i wanted to happen. danny stomping towards the front of the room and uppercutting eadric as he gave his boring, drawling speech was one of these thoughts. i also thought about danny, when locked in with killian, reaching through the door intangibly and unlocking it from the other side with a, “wow, look at that! it’s unlocked! see you around!” there was also a fake conversation in which danny, talking to eadric, said, “don’t think i can’t beat your ass again!” and eadric, having been thrown into the wall so hard the concrete broke, shouting shrily, “WE’VE NEVER MET!” oh, and danny yelling at merlin for not immediately jumping into action, with danny going “we could’ve ended them!” and merlin going “i don’t know how to undo the spell!” and danny saying “you’re [redacted] merlin! you’ll figure it out!” and merlin going “I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS !”
i also had a fun time imagining human danny, contented in gaius’ chambers eating with gaius and merlin immediately after that cat incident, purring a little and immediately slapping a hand over his mouth, to which danny looks at merlin like ‘did i just purr,’ merlin looking at danny like ‘did you just PURR’ and gaius looking overall exasperated and exhausted from having two idiots in his house for almost a month. i’m sure i thought of other funny scenes, but those are just a few to .. you know ... maybe get the ball rolling. sure, it’s been six years since you updated ... but that doesn’t mean you can’t! yeah, i know, a fruitless effort. nevertheless, i wish i knew the ending. we were just getting to the end of the rising action, for pariah’s sake

I know this story is unfinished but I'm going to read it anyway, even if know that my heart will break when I'm done.

Woah! This had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! First off, I adored Merlin and Danny’s dynamic and it is an absolute joy! And the characterization of the knights and Aurthor is super interesting and great! I actually havent seen Merlin in a long time, but after reading this (and despite the finale) I feel the need to rewatch it

Whew. Just read through it all in one go. Great story, everyone seems in character and you peove to be creative and use expert originality. In any case, I don't know if Danny is caught as well or not but I do know he's not likely to have come to the same conclusion as Merlin of trying to break the spell may harm them, he may see ot more as a should he affect the future with his actions kond of thing, I think. I'm hoping that Danny doesn't get back to his timeline through a portal but rather keeps Merlin company as a fellow immortal for all those years.
