I know its a little late, but I am reading this series in 2019. This work is awesome NoahPhantom. I don't know if you are even getting this review. But I am really glad and thankful to you for this amazing series. The plot keeps getting interesting every chapter.

Well, you certainly have a knack for making a person pick up the next book in the series immediately upon finishing the prior one! If I thought that the first book ended with some crazy happenings then this one definitely outdid it! I was quite pleased to find out that Harry had not given both the Cloak and the Map to James without thinking about his other children. Especially since I think that Harry would know how important family heirlooms are. Lots of answers in this book, like Exo's backstory, but even more questions, like what is under Hogwarts? Can't wait to get started on number 3!

I continue to enjoy the mystery of these series. The Dueling information and play-by-play is fascinating. The underlining wandlore is original and interesting. The school-kid romance aspect is slowly building and I'm curious to see where that will go. The dynamic between all of the children grow stronger and more complex as time goes on. I find myself adoring James and Albus interactions; their relationship has growth with this second installment as well. Even older students, those beyond Albus's year and unrelated to James, are showing relative plotlines. For example, Gillen, who is an adorable rebel with a rather big secret that I know will become important later on.
I quite adore Exo and his father. Their plotline is original and well-written, although I find the father a bit manic at times, which could be attributed to his traumatic past. Professor Dalton Desulgon is an absolutely incredible OC. His scenes are usually favorites of mine.
My only complaint is that Harry Potter is nearly completely Non-Canon at this point. His reactions are controlling, especially during the debacle with the Festival. His words come across as too over-the-top during moments that should be calm and logical. Other times, Harry reacts calmly when perhaps a firm and serious approach should be taken. Overall, Harry's character is off-kilter to me.
Ginny is another issue of mine. She is stale and generic the majority of the time. The best scene with her, so far, has been when she dueled in order to protect her children. This underlining jealousy and constant weepiness and helplessness seems so odd. Where is the fiery Ginny Weasley who would do anything to protect her children? The woman who would just as soon fight than remain helpless? It is just a personal preference that characters stay Canon in characteristic.

I am completely sure that Ginny would have visited the hospital. I don't see why you wouldn't include it here. Also Harry, with his past, wouldn't force feed a potion to Al. At times it seems like you forget the characters and just because you are writing post-voldemort change them to whatever. I will keep trying to read but...
