Oh Naruto, of course Sasuke wouldn't have included you! You sweet, stupid, dumb boys!

I felt like crying when he told the dobe that he was worth something to him while he was in coma. The ending had me laughing especially when he said he was a stupid teme. I couldn't control my laughter. It was wonderful.

such a sweet story and well the emotions were beautiful and just loved the whole storyline.

The fic got Sasuke's misery post-ending correct, but sadly got it wrong about him finally settling down in Konoha and Sakura finally wising up. Personally, I really didn't want him to go back because it didn't seem right after what the village had done to his family. I did, however, want to see him settle SOMEWHERE and build a life for himself. And Sakura...most ruined female lead ever. I still can't believe how bad Gaiden made her look.

But this review is not about canon! So I liked the fic. I think it was necessary for Sasuke to finally realize how much his bluntness and anger can hurt people. However, I had a hard time feeling sorry for Naruto. What cause him to self-destruct? Was it really Sasuke's comment? If it was JUST that, then I can't feel sorry for him.

Although what Sasuke said was unintentionally mean, it shouldn't have been enough to make Naruto spiral downward into a sea of depression. Naruto has a lot of self-confidence and doesn't take normally take insults that much to heart. He's not Hinata. And, unfortunately, he's used to that type of bullshit from Sasuke. It's not the first time Sasuke has lashed out at him. What made him think Sasuke meant it this time when he never really meant it before? There was plenty of room for interpretation in Sasuke's statement such that it shouldn't have been as hurtful as Naruto took it. As readers, we know that Sasuke hadn't meant Naruto when he said there was nothing at the party that was worth anything to him. Technically they were outside when Sasuke said it, they weren't at the party, so Naruto could have been seen as excluded from that statement.

If Naruto felt Sasuke meant him too, then why didn't he get angry at being treated as worthless instead of curling into himself? Why didn't he confront Sasuke about the way he talks to him? Naruto should have made it clear that he's tired of being Sasuke's punching bag. He shouldn't have rolled over like a kicked puppy. Yes, we would expect Sasuke to realize his own mistakes, but communication is part of him realizing his mistakes. Naruto should be expected to tell him what he likes and what he doesn't like instead of staying silent about it. (I feel like I'm outlining the type of argument men and women have with each other where women expect a man will know what is bothering her and men being clueless about it. Naruto is the woman in this case.)
