Trivia chapter 39 . 9/19/2018
Did you know that there are other things that have a similar effect of meaning to do one thing but actually accomplishing something entirely different? I know I was shocked when I came across the research showing that the video games I go to to unwind at the end of the day actually increase the production of adrenaline and cortisol among other things making those who play even MORE stressed and anxious. And over the long term bringing a whole host of health problems from the mild to the potentially lethal. And funnily enough that's not the only un - acknowledged danger I have found in supposedly benign de - stressing activities. Movies use hypnosis caused by the changing of the image every three seconds to plant suggestions into your subconscious mind. They also take advantage of the pity struggle catharsis mechanic do introduce a drug cocktail into your system. Naturally occurring and designed for your fight or flight responses, adrenaline along with other hormones and chemicals are produced by your bodies so you can fight or flee. The struggle being maintaining it long enough and the relief and endorphins from getting away and doing exercise. Except in a movie, video game, amusement park or an entertaining book there is no enemy to fight. This drug cocktail can cause addiction. Its why after finishing a book you have to find another. It's the same reason why there are shopaholics, people with food addictions, adrenaline junkies, and gambling addicts. The human body produces the addictive substance and if one is not careful, one's life can be ruined.

There are underlying factors in all of this though. Underlying reasons why things which are harmful to us are packaged attractively and sold to us as a form of entertainment or even worse, health. Heh, I remember I was shocked when I heard about Doctors prescribing cigarettes to aid in lung and breathing difficulties in the not too distant past. We know better now, but we didn't then.

I have found a book that talks about the underlying reasons of why things are done the way they are and who is responsible for orchestrating everything. The first few chapters give you the background history you'll need to get the full picture, then it gets to the meat of the issue. It is a fascinating read. Especially when you do your own independent research to verify what it says. Incredible the amount of stuff that shows up when you do. Like everything that goes against the mainstream though, it has its share of criticism. Which is why I suggested to read what it says and then do your own independent research to see if there is any truth to what is said. I was amazed by what I found.

It's a copyright free resource that you can find as both an audiobook or an e-book. You probably COULD get a hardcopy, but it wouldn't be free. There's even a website somewhere that lets you read it online without having to download it. It's "The Great Controversy " written by E.G. White. Look it up read for yourself what it says research independently, and make your own opinion.

All the best!
