Wow. What a masterpiece. This story right here was incredibly beautiful. I love how Katniss and Peeta grew together into a healthy, strong couple.

It made for a fun twist when Mrs. Everdeen turned out to be the shitty parent and Mrs. Mellark the nice one. I mean, it’s not like Katniss’s mom has always been good in canon, but at least she wasn’t abusive and tried to get her daughter’s love back. But it was refreshing to read something new. I really really enjoyed it.

Oh how my heart clenched (In a good way) when I discovered how nice Peeta’s family was. It made me want a family like that of my own. Hopeful I’ll marry into nice people too, it’s kinda weird to think about this but I secretly want it so much!

Anyway, this story started sad and tragic and then it turned into hope and love. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this with us! :)

"I thought love was all work." Interesting worldview for Katniss. She doesn't eschew love, she just thinks it takes effort where there doesn't need to be any. "I think I want children." A slight deviation from canon, but not unwelcome.

I really hate Mrs. Everdeen in this story. It's obvious that she doesn't care for her eldest daughter at all. And awww, Katniss finally lets Peeta give her a sweet first kiss!

Fern just casually talking to Peeta about sex... his mortified reaction is hilarious and on-point! Ahahahha!

Awww! Katniss strips naked for her husband, expecting him to make love to her. But Peeta respects her privacy! Classic! The sexual tension is already there, and I want it resolved!

Katniss was paid for with 563 coins? What?! Wow! Peeta and Katniss wed, and it feels like a death sentence.

Peeta's brother BOUGHT Katniss? For his brother? So sweet! I hope Peeta and his disability... I hope Katniss can see past that.

So, Katniss has never teamed up with Gale... wow, parents can buy a husband for their daughters? Sell them off into marriage? And great, Katniss's mother is doing this. Well, if a poor Seam family is desperate enough... Katniss could at least rise above her station by marrying well. Have a future.
