I really enjoyed this piece! I can easily see why it's one of the most-favorited of this section.
However, being the nitpicky person I am, I must point out a discontinuity:
Originally, you mention the tubs in the bath house as being steel. Further on, they're porcelain. Ignoring the fact that two rows of tubs would be unlikely (I don't know for certain, but I rather think that bathing would be a kettle-by-the-fire deal for most in this time period), and that metal- steel in particular- would be unlikely, especially for a kingdom undergoing desperate poverty, porcelain would almost certainly not be had by any but the elite.
A rather particular complaint, and one about something that isn't detrimental to the story, but I think I'd like someone to do the same for me. As I mentioned before, I really enjoyed this story, and I hope you write more!
