:( Can't read any more. Too creepy Ryou that badly browbeaten. /Sir?/ How the hell did Bakura break him that badly that quickly? They had their first proper conversation after Bakura properly awoke in response to encountering Yugi, and then he only reasserted himself at Duelist Kingdom, and this is only a bit past that. The psych patterns you've given Ryou are the kind you only get late in an extremely long-term abusive relationship. Even assuming Bakura can get away with pulling this much shit, he hasn't had the /time/ to train someone with a modicum of spine to this.

And given Ryou was willing to give his life, twice, out of pure defiance and the desire to protect his new friends the very first time they ever butted heads, I'm fairly sure he shouldn't be filed in the completely-spineless section.

Especially given the thief's obviously planning to use this against Yuugi. Ryou has a rather impotent protecting-people thing going. Since he /knows/ about this, he'd tell given half a chance.

Well, that's fucked up.

How come no one ever writes Ryou's stubborn hatred? I was really quite impressed with how he dug his heels in during that fateful RPG...he does get pretty wussy though, doesn't he? Meh. And he isn't good at reaching out for help, and the way the later arcs went, they pretty much totally abandoned him. On the whole, he's a badly-handled character.

I still don't believe he'd ever get this craven. Shut down, yes, but not whine at Bakura, or even cave to direct threats to his person. His sense of self-preservation is crap. But most people write him this way, so I can't really protest.

I have on question was that after the Duelist Kingdom or Battle City or Millenium world or someting?

I love this fic! I love it so much I've read it twice! I don't know why, but I love really depressing stuff, which is strange, because I'm quite a happy person, and I often go into laughing fits for absolutely no reason!

You know, I got this weird deja vu when reading about the Shadow Game, even though I haven't read this fic before. At first I dismissed it as possible coincidence (maybe I'd read a different fic with the same idea for the game?) but I was able to correctly predict the ending, when Ryou got re-zapped alive again. Weird... But I'm almost positive another fic had the same basic scene, anyway, just without the Millennium Eye stuff.
