just to be clear, if you tell a therapist that you're cutting yourself and they say "you're fine" or "you'll get over it" or anything like that, they are a bad therapist and you need to find another one ASAP. I hope the experience Lucy talks about isn't from a real life occurrence. you need to know your therapist takes your mental health seriously to be able to work with them at all and if they disrespect you or disregard your concerns so easily, then you need to find someone new. Please, please, please don't give up on getting help because of one bad encounter! there are people out there that truly want to help you and you deserve to be helped!

That was heartbreaking and tear -jerking while heartwarming at the same time. Beautifully done. Hoping for more stories from you.

So I really liked this story and a lot of the ones you've come up with, but I have one issue: The way you portray therapists in this story. My counselor saved my life in a way that my friends couldn't. I've heard from plenty of people who've had bad experiences with professional help, but my experience was an affirming one. I don't know what your experience with therapists has been and it's none of my business. I just wanted to point out that there is nothing wrong with seeking professional help and finding a therapist that helps you in the way that you need. Still a huge fan of your work, though!
