I love this story so far—but I couldn’t refrain from reviewing before I inevitably forget what I have to say when I get busy wondering what’ll happen.

So much, from your characterisation of Ron (that you’re really showing the extent of his loyalty is absolutely brilliant) and Dumbledore, to Harry’s conflicting feelings, to the Firewhiskey scene (that they actually can goof off and forget once in a while is so important—makes for a better story, I think), Harry’s grief (I really feel with him; it’s very well-portrayed); all that, in addition to your seamlessly flowing writing is a pleasure to read.

The only thing I can complain about is the ‘thinking scenes.’ They’re a bit boring and they basically recap what the reader has already gathered, and you could just as well add all those musings into the coming scene when they’re eventually interrupted—for example, the scene between Harry and Dumbledore in the Astronomy Tower. I you’d remove those scenes where they essentially do nothing, everything would be much more fast-paced (in a good way) and intriguing.

You’re also using an extensive amount of ‘said,’ which is kind of annoying. Try to use other words (I mean, you wrote this a long time ago, but if you ever think of rewriting it or something), like (warning: long list) asserted, spoke, commented, remarked, recounted, reported; admitted, promised, confessed, revealed; inquired, proposed, insisted, explained; emphasised, proclaimed; intimated, suggested, implied; barked, grunted, cried, muttered, ranted, sneered, drawled, joked, hissed, thundered, scolded, shrieked, yelled, bawled, groaned, whined... yeah, there’s lots of them, so you can be a bit more creative than just writing ‘said’ all the time.

Overall, though, your story is really good. You’re a talented writer, and it’s obvious you have a clear story-line; you’re building conflicts long before confrontation, and that’s more than Stephanie Meyer ever did—but then again, that doesn’t say much, lol. Anyway, keep up the good work. :)

Nice story, I like the changes brought by having a attentive mentor for Harry.
I hope we get to see the end of the story :)

Hey!
I know it's been a while since you updated this, but I hope that you haven't competely abandoned this story because it's got big potencial! I really like how you characterize everyone but especially Dumbledore: not as a manipulative old bastard, but a very complicted and burdened person who sometimes is too brilliant for his own good . I find your Harry (and your AU as a whole) very interesting and believable too: certainly more mature and "advanced" but not overly so, he's still got much to learn...
I'd be happy to read more!
Cheers!
Nat.

Magic may save Harry, but it won't necessarily bring your muse back...

Very good story

Keep writing as life allows
