Woooooow that was crazy. Sadly, save for what we learn of Sherlock's family in later seasons, this isn't totally implausible in the early seaons. It definitely helps to explain Mycroft's almost overbearingness/protectiveness from more than just being his older brother. I think you did really great on this, it's really hard for me to envision Sherlock, let alone any five year old getting any sort of treatment like that so that's the part that especially hits deep for me.

You know what? I can easily say that this is the best fanfic that I have ever seen. And it is so true. This is amazing. You mixed hope with ugly despair and came out with something even more beautiful than either. Thank you so much.

This is heartbreaking :( Excellently written, and I thoroughly... (is one allowed to say "enjoyed" after reading a story like this?) it. The idea of who Sherlock was as a child is so perfect, but that makes it all the more hearwrenching all the crap he had to go through and the fact that that person disappeared, all due to the cruelty of his father. Excellent concept, excellently written. Well done :)

Holy crap, what a story. The part where Mummy’s plane goes down made me nearly sick with horror as to what would happen to the boys now. This is headcanon-creating stuff, very impressive and terrifying.
