I don't think that's how the law work, it might have been how the law worked back then, but I don't think the law allows the inheriting of debts anymore, which should mean that debt died with the one owing it long ago.

Then there's the fact that they never sent a letter telling the Hibiki's they were late with their payment, I don't think they are allowed to add interest, before they have notified the debtor about the debt.

Of course Ryouga would only discover this, if he went with her to the tax office, and that don't seem the way things are going, but this is really a frivolous suit at this point, it has most definitely reached the point where it should be annulled by any sane law.

At the absolute most, they should be able to force him to pay the original debt without interest, and even that's likely to go though.

Then there's the fact that Ryouga's parents are still alive, which mean if the debt was indeed legal, then it would fall to them not him to pay it, until they die Ryouga inherit neither debt nor property from them, you can't just track down a random member of a family and force them to pay the debt, you must find the one that actually owe it.

Well, while I have no idea who this new character is, having never read or watched that series, I nonetheless look forward to the next installment of this unique little tale. Keep it up!

I'm glad that in the "blanks" Haruhi hasn't filled in Ryoko decided to actually explain all this, because I'm not a fan of people being shoved cluelessly through an adventure and this makes the story's potential much greater.

So... how far will Haruhi go with expanding the cast of characters before she realizes it's completely out of control? Will she even care? Ah, Haruhi, you've got such wonderful goals but such weird ideas about what makes a good story because you exclude literally anything that ISN'T related to those goals...

I wish I wasn't sick right now so I could've laughed as hard as possible at the martial arts tax collecting bit at the end; I broke out into coughs I laughed so hard.

Not sure about how well Ryouga would fair against Ryoko in battle actually. I mean obviously Ryouga has no chance if Ryoko uses paralysis and the full extent of her abilities to start with, but she didn't even do that in the canon (she sort of acts like a cat playing with a mouse at first), so at the very least he'd probably end up getting repeatedly hurt while he tried every move in his arsenal before dying. He wouldn't win since Ryoko can just manipulate the data however she wants and she isn't hurt unless her data itself is targeted, but he might at least stall her for as long as he seemingly did here.

Ohoho, I found this completely by accident a few weeks ago but haven't gotten around to it until now. I would have listed this higher on my "to read" list if I'd realized it was written by the same person who made one of my all time favorite Ranma fanfics (that being the Magical Girl Ranko vs Z-Fighter Ryouga you mentioned in the description). I only got through Haruhi about two months or two ago but I absolutely loved it, and finding out you're writing a crossover between these two is a godsend. The beginning is pretty promising already, can't wait to see where this goes!

I dont think I ever read a a story before we're the events are told from a thirds person view of a character who thinks and write completely deferent from the writer.
kinda refreshing seeing original ideas still exist on this site, gives me a bit of an headache but I'll get over it nice story. :)
