I liked this a lot. Very nice handling of both Hogan and Klink!

I like this view of Klink and Hogan. Klink may not come out and say he has Hogan's back, but his actions and his chess allusions are quite good enough. Having Klink do his best to protect his prisoners and to aid the allies in his own quiet way seems in character for him, but I do think it would take something like the Hochstetter incident here described to bring that to pass. Thank you for this little snip of character development. :)

I absolutely love this one-shot. I am an avid Hogan's Heroes lover since childhood, and I adore the fandom; unlike many fandoms within fanfiction, HH has many great writers and even more great stories. That raises the bar quite a bit and you have become a favorite.

About the story itself: Part of the reason I love HH fanfic is because, while the show put a comedic spin on something that was in reality quite terrible, I enjoy the fics that give it the grittier edge, a bit more realistic, and you have done that well without feeling the need to go too far into the real tragedy that WWII was. It's a fine balance. I am a particular fan of the fics that portray Klink as not quite as dumb and clueless as he is in the show. I have long held the idea that Klink was, if not a mastermind, at least quite a bit smarter than he appears with an excellent ability to survive in his precarious position. I really enjoy the portrayal that he knows a bit more than he lets on and on very rare occasions drops very subtle and vague hints to that effect.

I loved it. Was surprised and impressed by it, and disappointed to find that there wasn't anymore. Excellent job with the chess board.

I am a Klink fan and I love your interpretation of the relationship between Klink and Hogan. I always felt that it would not have taken much to tip Klink over to the other side.

There are moments where he shows some signs he is more intelligent than he lets on. For example he turns quite serious on the return of Major the return of major Bonacelli episode when Boacelli drops the camera.

I love the way Klink comes to Hogan's defense against Hochstetter.

Though I must admit I agree with the other reviewers that it would have been better if it was somebody other than Hochstetter who was inflicting the slaps and blows.

But I don't find anything slashy at all about this story; not sure why anybody would say there is.

I don't normally comment on reviews, and I welcome them all. But I do feel I need to say that there was no slash relationship implied or intended in this story, only a small moment of compassion.

I really enjoyed this fic, until it started hinting at Hogan/Klink, however mildly (the 'cool wet cloth' bit). I don't know if that was intentional or not but I'm VERY wary of that pairing. The rest of the fic is good, though that kind of violence does seem slightly uncharacteristic for Hochstetter.

I liked this. I like the way so many of the fanfic stories have been sympathetic to Klink and given his character so much more depth than the TV show did.
