I honestly can't truly capture the excellence of this work. The idea drew my interest, but the tone kept me going.

I've only just finished racing through this, and i'd like to give more accurate praise, but time flies so quickly.

Reading this was... difficult at first, because of the odd structure and shifting veiwpoints... but I realize that's the crowning genius of this work. Every chapter is interspersed with fragmented observations, callbacks and interrupting memories... they're a prefect representation of the minds and life of the reformed Harley and the people of Arkham. Broken, shattered, and all over the place, barely able to remain in the present.

Harley is broken, but mended... she's been twisted and bent and forced herself to back to 'sane'. The narration is broken but so VIVID and often one gets confused as to what's important... the plain text is often boring to return to. But isn't that the nature of insanity and overcoming it? Not loosing yourself in that colorful, simple things that only you see?

I think that's what I like so much about this Harley: She's still sociopathic and blunt, so we can see the darkness that the unknown trauma would be real... yet she's still got a hint of that humor we know and love. The character is tired, constantly, and it makes the cost of 'becoming sane' seem much more real and believable. Harley isn't miraculously 'cured'... and just because she's 'better' doesn't mean she's happy... but she's stronger than the character we know, taking her 'better' even though it doesn't mean 'easy or happy'. Along the lines of the Sour Knight trains of thought, Harley's victory/life/sanity is a grim one, her hopes bitter and her comforts small... but they are THERE, and they are hers, and Neither she nor they are Dead despite everything they've been through.

It even seem she's giving some of that bitter hope to the rest of the inmates, who see her taking control of her own life... she isn't being a criminal, but she's still forcing the World to respect her, either taking the abuse from the inmates, or dishing out her own, be it inmate or stuck up superiors. She's not cowed by them, and she's even got allies and proteges in the staff and interns.

Ah well, I've dragged this ramble on long enough.

The only problem I have so far is that the ending... well, I think it lacked closure. It seemed abrupt. I know that the timeline is not solid... but I kinda wished there was something a bit more concrete. I almost feel as if there's more to the story of Harley and Arkham... More to this world.

Gotta say, hands down one of my favorite fanfictions. Love how you mixed in mythos from different universes and characters. Especially Green Lantern TAS. You had me at Razor and Aya. But yeah I guess Im not too smart cause I didnt know what was going on with Harley till the last few chapters. Anywho, painful redemption and ultra fluff! Loved it all.

It takes me far too long to get around to sending reviews, and I apologize for that. That being said, I have to mention again that I love your writing style.

Everything that you do is so brilliant, you’re so good at using small, unassuming details to explain the story and the characters themselves. I’ve never come across an author on this site that does this as well as you do, hell, some published writers can’t even pull it off. And your descriptions, imagery, and all those other fun words are like literary smut. Thank you for this wonderful story.

Shame to see it end, but a nice place to do so none the less.

Yeah. Yeah. Breakdown eminent, 'cause they may be Rogues, but there are some things that Riddler, Hatter, Ivy, (and Scarecrow?) do not do to anyone. On the other hand, remorse is not their style, so how they will react is still up in the air.
