Guest chapter 1 . 2/15/2018 Quite unusual but okay! |
StarViking chapter 1 . 6/29/2016 Putting aside my not shipping Lestrade/Sherlock, this story does an AMAZING job in depicting Sherlock's "fascination" for lack of a better word with Adler. And I TOTALLY know where Sherlock's coming from with how people place way too much emphasis on sex and that if you're not interested, or in my case chose celibacy till marriage, then there's something wrong with you. I hate that! |
librarywitch chapter 1 . 10/25/2014 I love your Greg he is awesome. |
Puggle chapter 1 . 9/24/2014 Great piece Thanks for sharing |
Maharani Radha chapter 1 . 8/6/2014 That was amazing. I really enjoyed this take on the Irene Adler episode. It's so easy to turn that into a "lost love" or a jealousy fic (which Ido indulge in on occasion), but Sherlock's so much more complicated than that. Great job! |
zutarakid50 chapter 1 . 9/28/2013 This made me cry and I can't really express in words why. This piece is very well written and very in character for all involved/mentioned. I agree, Lestrade could use more screen time. |
random-nexus chapter 1 . 9/4/2013 This was excellent. |
Ace Auntie chapter 1 . 7/24/2013 Gotta love Ace Sherlock. I spent years hammering it into my friend's head that there is nothing unfulfilling about not having a sexual drive/attraction. It is all fine. :D Though damn it all, why does it drive people? |
Haylia Jones chapter 1 . 1/22/2012 awe nice. |
KlinicallyInsaneKoschei chapter 1 . 1/21/2012 Apart from Lestrade's occastional 'sunshire' - which I think is a little ooc.. This was really good! And yes I agree! He should have more screen time :) |
Hekateras chapter 1 . 1/18/2012 So heartwarming. Speaking as an asexual, Sherlock's frustration with being on different wavelengths with most people in the world came off as very authentic and genuine, and Lestrade's comforting him and reassuring him that they'll always be there for Sherlock was just , everything was so in-character. I especially adored this line: "Sometimes," Lestrade muttered, tucking the soiled cloth away and pulling a packet from his pocket, "I don't understand a word that comes out of your mouth." "You're severely underestimating the frequency with which my words confuse you," Hilarious. XD The only thing I can't quite get past is your continuity's tendency for Lestrade to refer to Sherlock with overly endearing tones. I do see him as essentially a parental surrogate for Sherlock, I think it's still very tentative, so "sunshine" and especially "darling boy" seems a bit out of place. And I just can't imagine Sherlock calling him "Dad" (though it doesn't happen here). Cumberbatch once said that "He found out his father is having an-" An affair, presumably. Judging by the interaction with Mycroft, he likely revealed it in his usual blunt way as a child, which caused his family to split. I can't imagine that the word "Dad" has very positive connotations for him. |
P'tfami chapter 1 . 1/15/2012 DI Lestrade should have got more screen time, he's one of the few people who understands Sherlock's potential to become a legend and accept him as he is( grudgingly). I'm glad the asexual element of Sherlock has been tackled, its so rare to find in other fics, very canon. Nice introspective work. |
with eyes looking up chapter 1 . 1/13/2012 your Lestrade. I just love him so much. and your sherlock for that matter. :) |
Archea chapter 1 . 1/13/2012 How did I miss this on LJ? I totally agree with your interpretation of the Irene/Sherlock dynamic. And Lestrade as the reassuring dad figure is perfect. (Makes me want to read more of them in the Winter Child verse too!) |
Jenn chapter 1 . 1/11/2012 Sweet. I really like fics with Lestrade and Holmes having a sort of father/son relationship. It's nice. No matter what either of them does, they are friends. Lestrade obviously cares about Sherlock, whatever Sherlock thinks. |
