My review was initially going to be one huge spoiler warning for review-readers about why I seriously didn't like the last few chapters of the story, but I'll force myself to keep it simple for my sake and yours because it was semi- contradictory, and I can't word things correctly lately.

Chapters have been cut, good characters/been replaced have been taken out, things were rushed, things were just tossed in there for no good reason (i.e. the rape, conveniently meeting Jet just so she could have a reason to get to Ba Sing Se (which isn't necessarily a bad thing but very random at how you executed it), Longshot living just for the drama, having the single scene with Zuko and Mai but then not expanding on it at all, and not to mention the random-sounding plan for taking over Ozai), etc.

You made up a good prophecy about how Kai would basically be the downfall of her home nation, but literally randomly replaced her with Aang in the end of it all and had Ozai killed. I don't really know how you could have changed the story enough to properly introduce that prophecy because I'm not good with thinking up ideas on the fly, but there are many opportunities to make it better.

I absolutely loved the relationship between Kai and Zuko, how the story was going all the way to when she left and somehow met Jet. I loved how she noticed Zuko getting worse with his anger, how you typed it all out, some of their arguments, and how much Zuko truly loved her. I loved how Iroh was involved with Kai like a daughter figure, being closer to her than with most OCs in other stories, and that he was her shoulder to cry on. Not to mention raising his voice to Zuko here and there on her behalf.

It would have been more interesting and epic to read if she stayed with Zuko and his uncle to personally see the changes in them as she remained distant to Zuko and maybe was tempted to leave them at one point? Otherwise, random ideas and episode plots were mixed and tossed around, and good opportunities were missed. I know the usual quote "it's fanfiction, so I can do what I want in my story" & , I respect that despite what my words sound like, but those are my thoughts and I tried to be as semi-polite as I could make it without condescension.

I guess this story just wasn't for me, though I skipped to the happy ending after skimming over the new attack plan, and enjoyed the two's interaction immensely. I do hope you continue to make others happy with your stories though.

The review doesn't sound simple like I said at the start, now that I looked it over, but what I had typed before was so much more confusing and longer...

It seems like you wrote this a looong time ago, but I just read it and I want to give you my opinion anyway. I really did like the story, and that doesn't happen very often but, I think it could have been a lot better. One of the things I really love about reading is that you can almost feel what the characters are going through, that didn't happen to me while reading your story though. I don't know if I am explaining myself correctly but I think you should give more development to your characters feelings. Well, that's just my constructive criticism. Take it or leave it. I repeat, I did like your story so congrats.

I LOVE this story! It was really wonderful and well written and I became sooo excited when I found out there's a sequel! I really like Kai and everyone from the show was in character too. I'm going to start reading the sequel either later tonight or tomorrow!

And if you want any constructive criticism; I really like the details, and how you mixed in the OC with the show, but could you possibly make it a bit longer? Personally I think it went a bit fast. But other than that, it was sooooooo good! I'll be reading some of your other stories! Keep on writing! :)
